Not happy

I dont know where to start. Our check in didnt go well.The young lady in the front was stuck up didnt make my boyfriend feel welcome. Besides that, she didn't tell him what time breakfast started or ended. Second of all, I guess the AC in the lobby wasn't work it was hot in there, and they had the door opened flies flying around the food.Coffee machine wasn't working. None of the machines in the gym weren't working.Top it off the water from the shower and the sink were coming out so slow.

Stayed at the Wingate for a mini-vacation with my wife. We had stayed here before; we like trying hotels, but decided to come back to the Wingate. First, we could not check in until 3:16 PM, 16 minutes after stated check-in time. Secondly, the indoor pool is no longer heated; the hot tub no longer works. The morning shift clerk we talked to, didn't seem to care. We will not stay at the Wingate anymore. We used to refer friends to the Wingate, but we will now share the bad decline of this hotel with our friends.

Pool was closed!

We were really disappointed that the pool was closed. I was travelling with my grandchildren, and we couldn't go to the beach because it was way too windy. They really wanted to swim, but the pool was closed. Our stay would've been much better if it had been open.

Did not live up to its positive reviews and price.

Pool is small and inside. It was full all evening so the walkway to the elevator was wet the whole time. The room was spacious but didn’t feel the cleanest. We had absolutely no bath towels. Had to get them from the front desk- there was always just one person working the desk and the clerk was often in the back office. We stayed only stayed one night and decided not to shower because the tub/shower nozzle looked like it was about to fall off and the shower didn’t look very clean.

This hotel was...meh

Okay. Where to begin? This hotel is overdue for a DEEP clean or even a desperate upgrade. The carpets (at least upstairs on our floor) were FULL of stains. Overall, the hotel (on the third floor) was filthy our entire stay. It did not seem housekeeping EVER vacuum or clean the carpets, trash on floor and trash can never emptied. Our room seemed clean enough except our walk-in shower seemed like it didnt get clean. Water spots on walls and shower doors and hair on shower floor. Mold around base of shower floor, a cockroach decided to join us in our bathroom (hopefully this doesn't put us over our guest limit), and smelled like marijuana in hallway near rooms next to ours. The only good thing at the breakfast was the waffles and sausage. Everyrhing else was meh. The orange juice was extremely watered down until you got to the last of it in your cup and you get orange syrup. It was disgusting. The scrambled eggs tasted like powdered eggs. So if you don't mind that then you will probably be fine with them. Also, the indoor pool was closed during our stay there. I don't think we will stay here again. Also, for some convenient reason, this site will not let me upload any photos.

Checked in, went to room and it was wrong, went back down and told the clerk we reserved the Queen studio and this was just a double queen room. She said they didn’t have those, I explained that reservations and online hotel.com pics said otherwise. Maintenance man came by and told her they did have a couple, and he told her the room number. Checked into room number two…. Wrong again, it was a king studio. I bed, I couch pullout. In the end, my kids had to sleep on a pullout couch and a rollaway cot when we reserved two queens and a couch. Pool was dirty and spa/hot tub didn’t work 1st day - pool closed next day until further notice, no smoking property had plenty of weed being smoked on both floors we were on…. Breakfast was horrible, hostess each day was rude and very inattentive to anyone’s needs or the cleanliness and quality of the food. I could keep going, but I’ll just keep it short. Do not let the name fool you, we were not in a typical Wyndham hotel. Maybe we just had a bad experience, because we went by reviews and ratings… we were fooled,
