We booked four rooms for a one-night stopover in Cork. Check-in was scheduled for 3:00 PM, and we arrived around 3:45 PM. However, the front desk staff initially seemed unsure whether two of the four rooms were ready. After about 10 minutes, we were told all rooms were available.
Our room was located on the first floor and had a musty smell, although the other rooms were fine. The beds were clean and comfortable.
Unfortunately, our experience took a turn later that evening. At around 10:00 PM, we were startled when someone unexpectedly entered our room and exclaimed, “Oh no, someone is already staying in here!” Shortly after, the front desk called us to verify that we were indeed in the correct room. They then proceeded to call all four of our rooms to confirm who was checked in, which left us feeling quite uneasy for the rest of the night.
We hope this was an isolated incident and not reflective of the hotel’s usual operations.
