Nice new hotel. Located across the street from the Malecón. Staff was great, specially Adriana Paredes, Laura Vargas at the front desk, and Andrea at the restaurant. Breakfast had a lot of varieties of food, many of them typical Dominican dishes.

Even though it’s at the soft opening stage, our room was not fully cleaned. There were hairs on shower head, dust/hair balls near the rug by the bed, the faucet and shower unit’s coating were partially peeled off. One of the back door’s coat hook was missing, and the cleaning staff even put a sheet of tissue underneath the plastic cup near the sink, which seemed truly weird. The breakfast was ok, the restaurant is dated. The view of the pool and the coastline is nice. Our oceanfront room on 12th floor had an unbeatable view which made all the things mentioned above tolerable. If it was only for one night, it’s ok.

My experience was very disappointing. When I arrived, I asked the valet attendant if he could assist me with the valet service, but he simply responded “no.” As a result, I had to park my own car, which defeats the purpose of having valet parking available. In addition, the security staff were arrogant and unprofessional. Their attitude was rude, and they showed very poor customer service skills The only positive part of my stay was the check-in agent, who was friendly, professional, and very helpful. They made the check-in process smooth and welcoming, which I greatly appreciated.

I had a wonderful stay at Mauad Hotel in Santo Domingo. The hotel has a great atmosphere, very comfortable rooms, and an excellent location to enjoy the city. What really made the difference during my stay was the exceptional service from the staff. A special thanks to Baez and Milan, who were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always available to assist with anything I needed. Their professionalism and warm attitude truly made me feel welcome and taken care of. Customer service like this makes a stay memorable, and thanks to them my experience at the hotel was even better than expected. Loved the breakfast with the view at Carmela restaurant! I would definitely recommend Mauad Hotel to anyone visiting Santo Domingo and I look forward to coming back.

our room had an spectacular view of the whole city and was elegantly appointed with excellent amenities. They told us the hotel is in a soft opening (brand new). The staff is genuinely friendly and very attentive, They did not charge us our early check-in and that was a big plus. The rooftop offers spectacular views that take your breath away. I stayed at Hotel Mauad from Nov 19–23 and had a very positive experience. The property is beautiful, modern, and still very new. The lobby is stunning, the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and the staff were consistently friendly, bilingual, and genuinely welcoming. There are some areas that could be improved as the hotel finishes opening: hallways are noisy with rolling luggage, the bathroom sink/outlet setup is awkward, and the room could use more furniture. The nightclub’s shared entrance creates crowding during peak hours. Still, the staff, especially Mr. Báez, made my stay exceptional. With a few refinements, this hotel has real potential to become a top choice in Santo Domingo.

The lobby is very comfortable and impressive, the view in the ocean view room was fantastic but unfortunately does not set the tone for the property. It had been raining and there was so much water damage and leaking not only in my room but the restaurant as well. The whole hotel felt stuffy and humid. It's hard to believe that this is a new hotel, it's in shambles. The room furniture is minimal, the layout and lighting especially in the bathroom is very awkward and insufficient. The comforter in the bed was very comfortable but all the pillows were so high my neck started to hurt. Other reviews talked up the breakfast so much I was really looking forward to it. It was average at best. Also, we ate dinner at the hotel a few times and overall the food was mediocre. The staff was very polite and did the best they could but overall I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. I ended leaving the property early. Expedia was awful to deal with as they refused to give me a refund for the days I didn't stay at the hotel. Their excuse was that they couldn't reach anyone from the property, but how is that on me? They didn't even ask to see my pictures. I've used Expedia for over 20 years and I've never had an experience like this before. I'm very disappointed.

My recent stay at the Mauad Hotel Boutique was genuinely exciting! You can tell this place is brand new and super stylish—it's got tons of potential and a modern luxury vibe. The hospitality was genuine right from the start; the Front Desk staff during check-in were seriously outstanding, setting a world-class standard for warmth and efficiency. They deserve major praise! The hotel feels really fresh, but you can see they're still putting on the final touches while construction wraps up. The only little letdown was the check-out staff, who weren't as friendly as the crew when I arrived. Honestly, the few things they missed in the rooms are so simple to fix, which is awesome because it means quick improvements are ahead. They just need a few basic things to make the rooms five-star: a full-length mirror, a hook for towels in the bathroom, a proper electrical outlet near the vanity, a small shelf to act as a nightstand on either side of the beds, and a bench or suitcase rack at the foot of each bed. The true star of the show is the speakeasy club, La Biblioteca. It's nothing short of amazing—it’s super trendy, upscale, and beautifully designed. The vibe for a high-end night out is perfect.

Absolutely — here’s the updated version with that important detail included: --- **Title: Beautiful Lobby, But Felt Like Sleeping in a Nightclub** We had high hopes when we booked Mauad Hotel — it’s new, the lobby is gorgeous, and the service at check-in was excellent. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The rooms were a major disappointment and didn’t match the upscale look of the lobby. Furniture felt low-quality, and simple amenities like bathrobes, slippers, and proper toiletries were missing. Even the air freshener was overpowering, and there were no plugs in the bathroom for a hair dryer. We have stayed at dozens of hotels in Santo Domingo and many more internationally, and we have *never* experienced anything like this. Our biggest issue — the noise. We were traveling with our two young daughters, and both nights we stayed, the bass and music were unbelievably loud. The first night we didn’t realize it was coming from the hotel, but the second night we complained around 9pm. We were told a private rooftop party would finish by 12:30am. After 1am, it only got worse. We changed rooms multiple times (from the 11th floor to the 9th, and later again down the hall), but the music continued — eventually coming from the hotel’s own disco. It was after 3am before we found a room that was only *slightly* quieter. The staff did try to help by moving us, but nothing truly resolved the problem. If you want to stay inside a nightclub, this is it.
