Overnight stay

Booked a room for three for an overnight stay. Found out a few days to my stay that I was double booked. The guest house refused to cancel one of the rooms because they were fully booked and notice was too short. They explained that if they were notified earlier they would have given it to another client. They did not know why hotels.com still had them listed as having rooms available on their site. I was bounced between them and hotels.com. Stuck with two rooms. One had a somewhat musty smell but was otherwise clean and well looked after. Rooms are just like in their pictures. Turns out there was just one other room that was occupied by another guest so that left me wondering. Coffee maker had quite a bit of lime scale and could do with some cleaning. Breakfast was fruit, pastries, yogurt as shown in their pictures. Stairs are as shown in their picture, about twenty something or so. Close to train station and short distance from shops, beach. Walking distance to cruise terminal.

Modest lodging on first floor of townhouse without a Residence sign. No lift, so bags had to be carried up a flight of darkened stairs. We were told to give an exact arrival time, which was not possible until we left Rome. Still, a nice enough stay

For future guests :) 1. Entrance is from the side street and locked. 2. Please arrive after 2pm for prompt service. 3. Carrefur minimart is about 1km away for easy shopping. 4. The guest house itself has a great renovated shower and bathroom. Bed is lovely and comfy. 5. Guest house manager/attendant is helpful - he may look stern but he's just being Italian :)

This property is very accessible to dining options, and is walkable to both the train station and the cruise ship terminal shuttles (about .5 miles to each). The area was easily walkable. The host seemed quite surly and was not particularly responsive, but he did allow us to keep our luggage in the reception area until the afternoon. The breakfast left a lot to desire. The room was quite spacious, but very dated and needed some updating. There was no blackout curtain on the window which would have been welcome.

Be no later than 8pm!

We were a group of four people who stayed for one night. The accommodation was very clean and our bed was comfortable, lovely clean sheets and towels. Breakfast was extremely basic. The disappointments were that there are many steps up to the apartment block! The owner will not meet you after 8pm ( or just before), which is it clear when booking. Unfortunately our luggage didn’t make our connecting flight, which meant waiting for the next flight to arrive, this meant that we would be at the property just after 8pm ( we arrived exactly 8.10pm) , we spoke with the owner as soon as we realised the issue with our luggage and he wouldn't accomodate our needs. Fortunately our friends grabbed a taxi & travelled straight to the accommodation and collected both room keys, else we'd would have had to find different accommodation,! they were kept waiting for the keys to arrive for over 30mins which isn't great because there's no where inside to wait Fortunately it wasn't raining!!! Would we book again! Sadly no, only because of the delay with our luggage and we feel it's safer to use a hotel with 24hr reception and your not kept waiting for thekeys.

A great place to stay, especially if you’re leaving on a cruise! Spacious clean room that is very reasonably priced. Enjoyed talking with the proprietor, Simon, who gave us a great recommendation for a local restaurant. Multiple dining options nearby as well as shopping. Continental style breakfast and the pastries that Simon brings in are outstanding! There was a fellow American couple staying there while we were there. Please disregard any review that they have left. I think they gave a 2star rating. They were the epitome of the Ugly American. The husband spilled an entire cup of coffee in the breakfast area and then did a half-a$$ed clean up. Also showed up 2 hours after the time they had coordinated with Simon, yet expected him to be there waiting. Just an overbearing American that gives us all a bad name.

Nice stay and would return!

Simon was communicative and asked what time I planned on arriving. He checked me in at 2pm and I was so happy to rest in the privacy of the room with its own bathroom. The location was perfect and close to everything. The morning of check out, I enjoyed espressos and pastries before heading on my way. Thank you Simon!

Nice room at first - but check in was a problem - no staff at times they say they are there. No elevator to floor so beware when you have heavy suitcases. There were nasty stains on the bed.
