Original room assigned smelled like heavy smoke and damp mold and there were several dead crickets in the bathroom. The one lady working the desk came to check and acted like she couldn’t smell anything. Then she says,”I don’t know why they assigned you this room because we haven’t used it in two years.” What??? She gave us another room where the sink wouldn’t drain and the hair dryer was held together by tape. The advertised water park had no water and there was a letter in the room stating they only turn it on in the summer….we were there June 11-12. The letter also stated that the phones were being repaired but they had been removed and that the cable may or may not work. The shower was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was packaged muffins or cereal, a few apples and oranges. All that and still the location to Carlsbad Caverns is wonderful and it was cheap. You get what you pay for. Just don’t go by the pictures and you won’t be surprised.

We enjoyed our stay hear. It was convenient to get to the Cavern (7 miles). The rooms are older but well kept and clean. Plenty of towels and the staff was helpful. Nice pool for the children to play in also. We will stay here again if we are ever back to the caverns and hike. The drive to Carlsbad is not bad either to eat. The grocery story across from the in Is also convenient but tourist prices.

This place is excellent. Not because it's fancy because it's not. What it is, is comfortable, clean and an awesome staff. Very close to the Caverns. They have really nice pools, slides,etc. I stayed there and you should too.

It was great with 2 kiddos under 10. They loved the water park area. The room was nice and clean. Comfy beds and they provide a quick easy breakfast before hitting the caverns. Staff was great as well!

Great location friendly people. However the pool was closed, all tv channels were pretty staticy, and I thought breakfast came with hot waffles from the picture and it didn’t. But we did get good sleep and were nice and close to the carlsbad caverns.

The room was clean and spacious. The air conditioner was already running when we arrived, so the temperature was comfortable. The front desk clerks were friendly and informative. The mattress was firm. The hotel was convenient to get to the Caverns.

Very clean, breakfast was okay, cereal and coffee. Room was clean, TV was blurry a bit, otherwise slept great! We definitely enjoyed our stay, yet the pool was not open, could have been the cooler temperatures at night time!
