The pool/splash pad was cool but very dirty. One slide was turned off. Had a huge roach in our room. Some of the front desk people were not very nice. I seemed to be a bother rather than a guest. Did see a cool tarantula by the pool. They didnt empty trash cans very often all three were full most of the time being there the 4 days.

Rude staff.

Cute little motel great location near the caverns. Rooms are ok nothing to write home about. They were clean and AC was acceptable but not amazing. However the water park is only open 1 - 7 so you won't be able to use it if you get there late. The pool has different hour 10- 10 was what I was told at check in and is printed on the information in the room. However because the staff lied to me and refused to open the pool when scheduled to my daughter wasn't able to swim. I am not sure if she was being lazy or what... Refused to get her manager and lied to be about her name.

Great stay. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Appreciated the continental breakfast and the fact that is right at the entrance of Carlsbad Caverns. Pool wasnt the most amazing, but kids liked the splash pad and water slide.

Stay elsewhere for convenience

Great proximity to Carlsbad but I really wouldn’t recommend. Unfortunately we arrived on a Saturday night. Café closed at 3pm and was closed the next two days. Which meant we got their complimentary breakfast. That would have been awesome if there were a waffle maker which was promised on their website or if cereal would have been restocked. It was slim pickings. The “grocery” store across the street only has chips, jerky and candy. Not sure what the gas station had but they weren’t open when I drove by. Closest town is 20 min away and I had to drive there twice for lunch and dinner. So you might as well stay in Carlsbad. We used the pool too for my two kids. Bottom of the kids pool was brown with dirt and the water a lot colder than the swim pool. Out of two slides, only one was working. Room was clean and pretty comfortable but the walkways outside of the rooms are littered with cigarette butts and bugs.

Great place at a great price

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean with plenty of space for our family of 4. We appreciated that there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Location is perfect for visiting Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains. My 7 year old enjoyed the pool, water slide and small water park area. Would 100% recommend.

Would only do one night, reeked of smoke

If you want to be by the caverns, location is perfect. It’s also a good spot that it’s close to National parks and Carlsbad, right in between. My biggest complaint is that they claim to be a non smoking hotel, but we got a “pet friendly” room (when we didn’t need it after all) but you can tell that building used to be the smoking rooms because the smell of smoke was horrible. We were there three nights, and to be honest I regretted that decision. The pool was extremely cold, only one slide was functioning and even my kiddos who love to swim no matter what, didn’t want to stay in too long because it was so cold lol. I would have definitely moved to Carlsbad to another hotel knowing what I know now, but shame on us, I guess we should’ve asked to switch rooms. Plus, you better eat before you get out there or bring food. They do have a restaurant next door that closes at 3, and is closed on Sunday. They do warn you about this ahead of time though.

Nice place, great pool

The property was well maintained and the room was clean, including the bathroom, which is the worst part of many places. The front desk person was friendly and gave us relevant info. The pool looked amazing and we would have used it if we stayed longer. It also has specific hours for kids, and later hours for just adults which sounds great. Only downside was the free breakfast is pretty bare bones, but free, so hard to complain too much.

Great Stay, but grocery shop before arriving!

We really enjoyed our stay here (which was 4 days) as a family! The gentleman who checked us in was nice and we never had any negative reactions with any of the employees. The waterpark was very important to us since we was there over a holiday weekend! And, although it rained we had a great time! Ride the slide...it is fun! The room was spacious, clean, the bed was comfortable and the ac was cold. They also have nice grill and picnic sections (bring charcoal). The ONLY negative was that they say there's a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, a grocery store, and gas station in super close proximity...and it is. BUT, they failed to say the restaurant has super weird hours and isn't open for dinner. We didn't find out until check in. We decided that's okay and went across to the street to the grocery store thinking we'd get some microwave food or cheap eats...that was also not true. The grocery store was barely a store at all. We had to drive 30 minutes back to Carlsbad everytime we wanted food. And, no there is no delivery services. We did find a walmart and dollar tree...so, just be aware if you're coming from Carlsbad, stop and get some groceries/food before check in!

Good place, some improvements possible

We came to see the caverns, and realized it was literally at the entrance of the park. Upon check-in, the desk clerk was helpful and gave us some tips. The room was surprisingly nice. The beds were comfortable. The towels were a bit thin, and our room was not serviced, but that may have been a misunderstanding. I'd stay there again
