"We purchased a day pass to enjoy the beautiful hot springs at Rio Perlas Thermal Resort & Spa, and it was absolutely worth it! The pools were relaxing and well-maintained, and we also went on a scenic hike that made the experience even more special. One of the highlights was visiting the farm and getting to pet the animals—it added such a fun, unique touch. We had an amazing time overall and definitely plan to return when we’re back in Costa Rica!"

"I can rave about Hotel y Restaurante El Guarco. What a pleasant stay we had! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The service was outstanding. The food was much better than expected; it was not your typical institutional-type menu or food. Breakfast was equally enjoyable with numerous choices, all expertly presented with a smile as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Cartago area. It was a treat."

"The best thing about this hotel is the extremely friendly and courteous and helpful receptionist who very kindly let me have the room at 10 am in the morning. This hotel has all the basic amenities and is of a good standard for Latin America. The location is five minutes walk from the main street and didn’t feel unsafe although there are some visible homeless people on the street."

"Great location in front of the park and easy walking to museums and shopping. Staff everywhere were wonderful and quick and responsive, except in the bar in the evening. The bar only had one server, who was very social, so we had to chase them for service and it was slow. Rooms are being renovated, but the most important areas were addressed - we had a lovely room overlooking the city with big windows. Comfy clean bed, hot water (which is a premium in Costa Rica as Tico's don't appreciate our...

"Staff are welcoming. The room is clean but there are some maintenance issues, e.g. TV, the shower takes a long time to get the hot water. Room is super big and the mattress is comfy. Breakfast is amazing."
