Great hotel, wonderful staff! We got there very early and our check-in was at 3. They did offer a different room, at the same price. But we had reserved a canal view room with a balcony and decided to wait. It was worth waiting for. Nice and quiet, with an amazing water view. We were there for King's Day ( not on purpose). There were about 1,000 people out front with a great DJ. The whole city is in party mode. It was fine, but glad our room room was along the river in back.

The staff was wonderful and helped every step of the way. They made me feel very welcomed. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Hotel Espresso in Amsterdam was in an excellent location. It is very near to the Rijksmuseum, the MoCo, and Van Gogh Museum. It was reasonably priced, very clean and comfortable. This is a cute little hotel. We stayed there 4 days/3 nights and we had a great time. We got the canal view so it was very peaceful. The staff is very nice and always helpful.

The place was interesting. It's in like an office building on the western edge of the historic downtown. It shares the space with another hotel, so it was ... unusual. It is not in the historic downtown. If you want to walk to Dam Square, it will take 30 minutes. Same for the train station. Only a 5min walk to the main area. 30min to the furthest part of the city. It's secure and quiet since it's slightly outside. The room is well decorated and clean.

A bit hesitant because of the negative comments ive read , but if youre looking for something clean , comfortable and safe on a budget this is the perfect place . I dont have anything negative to say , yes be aware they're stair like everywhere else in the Netherlands its very typical on original buildings. This family run hotel was very accommodating to our needs. My family of three stayed on the second floor and our room was spotless. The property is unique. The commons areas are welcoming and convenient. We stayed here to be close to the art museums, and if you can dodge the bikers and trams for a five-eight minute walk, you will love the experience. The cocktail spread was all we needed for that evening meal, though we did find nearby restaurants that were fun. Breakfast at the hotel was delightful. Most wonderful was the kindness of the lovely women running the hotel. We felt welcomed in Amsterdam thanks to them.

All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board. Hotel Estherea is a beautiful place, with a fabulous location, great staff, clean, breakfast is great and the cookies,flavored waters and coffee machine are over the top. There are fresh flowers, gorgeous chandeliers and very comfortable sitting areas. It was a real treat and I would go back in a minute.

Everything was perfect. Property is beautiful and staffs are kind. I enjoyed fitness and sauna too. The only drawback is checkout time at 11am is a bit too early. Hope it is 12pm.

Really the perfect hotel for the museum tour, in easy walking distance to all of them. The canal is lovely and quiet, tons of busy restaurants in a 4-5 block radius, lively night-life, friendly, busy, fun. Lobby recently renovated and very enjoyable with a view of the canal -- the breakfast service is superlative. What's not to love? If you stay, book a panoramic room, you won't be disappointed.
