"This Hotel in my opinion is for somebody who wants to get away from everything, it's very secluded and quiet."

"Beautiful property and top notch breakfast"

"We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. We visited in March and it was very quiet/serene. Portovella has a beautiful view of the Douro. Riverside walk is just several steps down a hill. Photos don’t do it justice because it is so breathtaking in person. The comfort suite was the perfect size with 2 bathroom ensuites and a powder room. View from the suite was incredible. Just plan ahead if you’re staying on a Sunday as many restaurants were closed but we found a gem in Cinfaes - Sabores e Memorias where husband and wife cook for you and welcome you in. The pool was not yet open unfortunately since it was March but would have been an incredible view. There’s also a kids playground set which helps for the little ones and a small little fish pond. The property has beautiful lemon and orange trees. A full and delicious warm breakfast was served directly to your door. A very peaceful stay! Highly recommend."

"The hotel was great, and the location couldn’t be better it’s right in front of El Corte Inglés, which made shopping and getting around super convenient."

"Very nice ocean view and worth staying on side to enjoy the balcony for wine or coffee. Enjoyed hearing the waves at night time and morning wake up. "

"Room was comfortable. The only issue was one couldn't control the temperature, even though there was a thermostat. Staff did their best to work in English. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choices. Parking was available, but a very steep and narrow access. Car front scraped on entry. Access to Metro was only 100 meters away, although very challenged to understand buying a card and what was available. "

"Room was clean. Rooms are older with some updates. Bed was comfortable and we had a good sleep. We didn’t eat dinner but will be something we will need to try next time. Loved the retro decor and the foosball table. "
