Casa do Rio Wine Hotel - Vallado

"Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics. The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools. The food and was outstanding! We made our dinner selections earlier in the day and were treated to an exquisite 3 course meal complete with dessert and wine service. We were served a breakfast buffet every morning with fresh fruit and juices, cured meats and cheeses, an abundant offering of homemade breads, pastries and cake of the day. There were also eggs and meats prepared to order. The staff and service completed our stay. They were genuinely warm and gracious. From Felipe, the manager who greeted us upon our arrival, to the Daniel and Carlos, our food servers for dinner, to all of the other staff who contributed to our amazing experience. Wow!!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Quinta Do Pego. We had a family trip and booked 5 rooms. They rooms were not huge but big enough and very clean and nice furniture. The hotel is modern and up to date and has very clean lines and nice design. We also had dinner on property one evening. It was the best dinner of our whole trip. Very delicious!"

"We had the best stay of our entire Portugal trip here! The staff were amazing. The pool is beautiful, and the food and wine were fantastic. We ordered dinner prior to arriving and would highly recommend that experience. Everything is very clean! Plenty of parking for our rental car. We had car trouble when leaving and the staff was very helpful in assisting. We will be back! Thank you!"

Chambre d’une bonne dimension. Restauration sur place avec excellente nourriture. Établissement presque neuf. Vue magnifique depuis la piscine. Air climatisé. Un endroit pour déposer les valises serait un plus."

"Nice place in historic town. Room was large, clean, and bed was comfortable. Town is walkable, I walked from the bus stop. The hotel has a restaurant and the breakfast is nice, they set up a taxi service and they were nice. I did use cash in town and for the taxi which was appreciated. Everyone was so nice even though I didn't speak Portuguese."
