"The staff was great. Very nice and helpful. Property is beautiful and well maintained. Great restaurants and food. The only thing we felt were the rooms needed some paint touch ups, caulking etc. They were tired. The rooms were clean, neat and the beds were comfortable. We were there before our cruise and stayed after the cruise. So we stayed in 2 different rooms.
Otherwise, we had a great time and we would highly recommend"
"Excellent stay with a spotless and generous sized room. Comfortable lounge(s) for waiting for check in or after check out. All of the front desk staff were very knowledgeable and helpful - in particular Clara (sp?) who was so gracious with all the things I asked her about. (She may have been the manager.) Do recommend asking for a 7th floor or higher Ocean view room so you can see the water and not have sight line blocked by the ferry building across the street. Also the property has an excellent location within walking distance of lots of interesting things and convenient to the cruise terminal, ferry dock (and even airport via taxi) . The roof top bar was fantastic for catching a beautiful sunset. The connected breakfast & lunch coffee shop / restaurant was delicious, convenient and fair priced. I highly recommend this property for a before or after cruise. Bed was very comfortable, room had lots of charging outlets (some European) and the balcony was a nice retreat. They even provided luxurious beach towels at no charge for use on our trip to the PK public beach. Only recommendation for improvement would be to add a shelf in the shower to hold your personal soap bar or hair products."
"You can see the hotel just across the street from the airport; don’t even think you can walk there especially with luggage because the entrance is on the other side up on the hill and the walkway is not that good. If you drive, getting out of the parking is quite adventurous because cars passing by go fast and there’s a blind spot and it’s on a hill so your car may slide back down, especially with stick shift. When you check out at 11am, they don’t let you keep the luggage there and the sign tells you not to hang out in the lobby too long. Just to wait for taxi only. Over all not very welcoming or friendly. Too bad, around the airport there is no other decent option if you want to stay to catch an early flight the next day!"
"Sweet place to recover from our flight to Tahiti and connect the next day to a flight to an outer island
Amazing host that even picked us up and ferried us back to the airport
All smiles"
"This hotel is very close to the port and the staff were very helpful Which is important when a large amount of passengers are checking out to get to the ship while others are checking in and having to use a very tight space for all the luggage at the front desk. But the Hotel Kon Tiki has some of the lowest rates to get a great bed in a clean facility in Papeete. But also don't expect a King's suite for a low price. Just a nice cool simple space and a good sleep in a good location. So it worked for us."
