"This is not a 5-star luxury resort. While was likely impressive once, parts of the property now feel tired and run down. The room was clean and had the basics (toiletries, safe, hair dryer, fridge), but the fridge had a strong unpleasant smell. The room also smelled of cigarettes, which was unpleasant as a non-smoker.
The main grounds and pool were well maintained; however, other areas showed visible wear. There was lots of rubbish in some parts including the beach area, and the steam room had mould and paint peeling from the ceiling. The staff were extremely lovey in the spa.The beach bar was totally derelict and not in use, and the beach itself was never set up with loungers or staff none of which was mentioned at booking.
The all-inclusive options were limited, with similar meals daily and the exact same snacks served.
Almost all the staff were friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping, reception and restaurant staff. However, the repeated sales pitches became uncomfortable. Providing written information with prices in rooms would allow guests to decide without feeling pressured and then they can ask the representatives.
My last transfer arranged by the hotel. The driver asked me to get out and check if it was the correct drop off , he was more focused on immediate payment than ensuring I was safely in the right place. Perhaps due to a language barrier but as a solo female this was very uneasy. "
"Like every time I believe this is a nice hotel in regards to the amenities and the infrastructure. The hotel staff is very nice and accommodating as well. This is my third time at La Badira and I still insist that the restaurants are not at the level of such a hotel. The food is not good, too expensive for what it is. The breakfast experience is the opposite. A lot of products and choices. But the service is extremely bad. You almost feel that you bother them. An effort needs to be made when it comes to setting up the tables and having them cleaned. "
"The stay was nit good initially. We were promised an upgrade and instead received a downgrade to one room and room view. Towels and gowns were ripped and stained. Bad smell in bathroom. Mugs and cups not provided for 3rd resident. When we asked, a dirty mug was delivered. There was a spark from the socket when we tried to charge our device. They ran out of slippers. Breakfast was bland. Room service was poor with uncooked potato chips, bland food and garlic skin in the pasta. Spa masseuse refused to deliver a massage despite us paying for it. Poor quality toilet paper. Only one room key given initially. It took a lot of complaining and escalating for them to change our rooms. "
