10/10 Excellent
"Very nice hotel located at the top of a hill in Ooty. Nicely appointed rooms with comfortable bedding. Staff was extremely friendly and provided good service. Hotel location makes it easy to walk down to main city area where lots restaurants are available. However, you can easily eat at the in house restaurant as well. There is a game room for kids to play. Afternoon tea in the garden was nice everyday between. 5-6pm.
Only suggestion would be to add a swimming pool to property. "
"I had booked this room for my father .
When they reqched the hotel, the caretaker told him that no payment or booking had been received.
After my dad showed the reciept and payment, the manager turned up about half an hour later .
They told my father that a room wasn't available and asked my father for a 1000 Rs deposit for another room.
My dad refused to pay any further sum, and informed them that if they did not arrange another room or refund the paid amount he would apporach the police .
They were then made to wait another hour before another room was arranged ,which was of poor quality.
We had paid for breakfast but nothing was arranged and no courtesy call or check by the owners of Nilgiri inn was done.
This is a terrible experience for my Dad who's about 76 years old having to endure this fraud and torment especially from a so called trustable website like Hotel.com and booked through the proper means from UK.

"This is a property with a breathtaking view of the Ooty huills and valleys. The cottages are good although they now require a fresh coat of paint inside. Food is decent and the breakfast spread is very good and so is the dinner buffet. Hotel staff are helpful and response to the calls is quick. Hot water timings are restricted in the mornings and evenings but that's not too much of an issue. The hotel helped us with a immersion rod beyond the normal timings so that was very helpful. Overall, we had a great stay due to the lovely weather and the enchanting views from the balcony. Highly recommended for those looking for a hotel situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main town with peace and quiet amongst the company of nature and birds."
