"Nice hotel, nice staff very good fitness centre. The only thing that lets this hotel down is that hotel guest must pay to use the sauna.
I feel very sorry for the employees on Spa reception, it must get very annoying having the same conversation with hotel guests"
"The hotel is nice, however, they are advertised as a Spa Hotel and that is not the case. They have a pool, sauna and steam but they no longer have services such as massage treatments. The dinnner menu is nice but way over priced for what it is and the breakfast is definitely not worth it! The extra money they charge for a counter with a handful of bits is ridiculous. You are better of walking/driving into town and getting it. Coffee quality was awful. The phone in our room wasn't working so when they left overnight dishes in the room after they supposedly cleaned we were not able to call through to reception. The the issue was raised their solution was to call the hotel off Google to get through to them. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I wouldn't stay again."
"Staff were lovely and building looked impressive, set in nice grounds and the food was good in the bar area. However inside the room was a bit tired and decoration shabby. The room was very hot with no air com (just a table fan) and safety limits on the windows meant you could only open them an inch. There was no fridge in the room for keeping things cool either. Also the shower tray didn't drain proprerly so you ended up standing in water that I was worried would spill over and the floorboards in the room upstairs were very loud and creaky which was a bit annoying. Overall it was a lovely stay just a few little things that stopped it getting 5 stars."
"Unfortunately this hotel was not what the photos highlighted. I appreciate it is an old building but it was very worn. The reception area was cold and the man on reception was only concerned about the wedding guest that were staying. Not helpful at all. Food was overpriced in the bar area. Cold dark and dingy is the only way to describe this place."
"Checking in was straightforward and welcoming, receptionists were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, fresh and airy. Great facilities and the food was excellent."
"The room was spacious, large beds, ensuites and a lovely big living space. The lighting was a bit dim, more lamps would be good. Small things didnt work well, ie, no bedside lights, front door wouldnt lock (except for the yale), a bulb was out, we scouldnt get the phone to reception to work and wifi didnt work either. Some of the blinds need fixing too.
However, lovely linen, comfy beds, great location and quiet. "
