The Amble Inn - The Inn Collection Group
6/10 Okay
"The inn is in a good place for a base, breakfast was ok but a healthier option would be a nice change. Rooms are fine but avoid room 1 as it backs onto female toilets of the bar. and you can hear the door banging too and the aircon quite loudly in the room ..also the cleaners at 5:30 ….but overall it’s a convenient place to stay and explore the coast"
"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked.
The breakfast was dodgy and the public areas really shabby.
Shame really it could be really special. I can’t recommend it and we won’t return."
"The bedrooms were clean and pretty standard but little things needed attention like the sash window would open but not stay open, nowhere to hang a towel and the sliding door was difficult to operate and lock. The basin was tiny. The public rooms were not very clean and a duster could have been useful as could a mop on step edges. I don’t think the bar had been wiped overnight. Pretty basic but ok for a couple of nights.
Staff mostly friendly and some food ok, other things pretty poor with items missing from the description on the menu."
"All the rooms are really nice and well looked after. Everything is very clean, and the staff are very welcoming . Really good breakfast choices ,and good selection for other meals too. All in all a beautiful building, with big bedrooms, and plenty of nice walks."
"We enjoyed this fantastic location and thought it was excellent value for money. Our only complaint relates to the Coffee machines at breakfast. The coffee was tasteless and needs to be properly percolated with a better quality of ground coffee beans. Table service for coffee would be much better."
"We checked in late evening, staff were friendly. Atmosphere was quiet in the bar area, locals were friendly, drinks reasonably priced.
Room was clean and spacious, bathroom was modern, there are no lifts and lots of stairs, so no go if you have mobility issues. Breakfast was nice, the only gripe I have is that the bar and rooms looked dated, but I would stay again."
