Dormy Inn Takamatsuchuokoenmae Natural Hot Spring
10/10 Excellent
"Whenever I can’t decide where to stay, Dormy Inn is always a safe and satisfying choice. The environment is cosy, warm, and comfortable. Complimentary late-night noodles from the restaurant and free ice cream outside the hot spring are thoughtful touches that make the stay even more enjoyable.
Takamatsu itself didn’t particularly surprise me, but staying here felt like reuniting with an old friend."
"The staff is so friendly and welcoming! They speak excellent English and are very helpful and engaged! I loved walking through the lobby because the staff made you feel just that welcomed.
The room was very clean, had an excellent view (high floor) and such cozy and comfy bedding that invited you to stay and sleep. Especially when you come from very thin towels in other hotels, the super plush ones Crowne Plaza offers are a dream. I didn’t want to get out of them. There even was a separate hand towel, something I had encountered in no other hotel.
The window in the indoor bathroom is a nice way to combat its usually stuffy feeling.
The room is also very quiet! No need to fear the closeness to the train station. That is only a boon since you don’t have to go far to reach your hotel after you arrive. Everything is also in walking distance, or immediately connected to the streetcar.
The breakfast had a diverse and delicious selection, with an egg station where live cooks prepare your eggs to your liking. I especially appreciated the healthy options of which there weren’t few.
Absolutely would and will book again and can recommend! "
"Staff was super kind - I needed help bringing my & my travel companion's bags upstairs while my travel companion was out, and they even helped me carry it up. The public bath was lovely, and there was free ice cream and laundry. Rooms were smaller but well laid out so it was easy to use. I loved it! The parking uses a car rotator so only small cars will fit in - FYI. Did not try breakfast but did try their free ramen at night, which was a nice snack."
"High-end hotel with stellar room and view. I stayed here because I was doing day trips to Kurashiki and Naoshima Island and this hotel is conveniently connected to the Okayama train station. "
"It was a steep hill to climb with luggage. Taxi's were not available even though the website said you can take a taxi.
The Hotel has many levels and no elevator.
Given that we were fit we managed to drag our suitcases up the hill. Not very accessible for people with disabilities.
We enjoyed our stay the room was minimally appointed. The aesthetics were simple & clean."
