Pier 21 Food Court occupies the 5th floor of Terminal 21 Mall, offering excellent Thai cuisine, with Chinese, Indian and Vietnamese options. Designed in the style of a fisherman’s wharf in San Francisco, everything here is bright and clean, with plenty of artificial trees and plants around. Dishes are cheaper than what you’d find in most food courts in Bangkok – we dare say the food here is even cheaper than roadside stalls.

Everyday Thai meals such as pad thai (stir-fried rice noodle), pork and basil stir-fry with rice, beef noodle soup, and chicken rice start from around 35 baht. You can also enjoy Chinese-influenced roasted duck on rice, Indian tandoori, Japanese-style vegetable sukiyaki, and steak with fries at similar prices.
For something sweet, head for the kiosks selling traditional Thai dessert and fruit smoothies. Mango with sticky rice is a popular choice, but you can also order banana in coconut milk, coconut ice cream, and cha yen (Thailand’s famous iced milk tea).
All stalls at Pier 21 Food Court are cashless, so you must get a stored value card from a counter near the entrance. You can top up as much money as you’d like to pay for your food. Before leaving Pier 21 Food Court, you can get a refund for any remaining credit at the same counter.
