I arrived very late after a long day getting lost walking the wall (after the kitchen closed and was shut) and the bartender was kind enough to put together a meal for me - very much appreciated when arriving in the dark partially covered in mud The beer they brew on site was also excellent."

"Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "
