"Right on the Main Street with a lovely pub/restaurant and very helpful staff. Our room was very nice, operable windows for a nice breeze while sleeping, a comfy bed and a well appointed bathroom. They were flexible about breakfast timing too, thank you so much! We had a lovely stay, highly recommend!"

"This is a really cute, 400 (ish) year old pub. The location is great as well. We asked for a vegan breakfast is it was no problem, and it was tasty. My only issue is less likely to be a problem for most people, but as someone with mobility issues, the very uneven floors led to a lot of tripping. My husband had no issues at all. Overall, I would recommend this hotel."

"A very idiosyncratic hotel - you'll either love it or hate it! We had a suite, which was very grand and spacious, but was showing its age. The evening meal was outstanding - David the Chef / part owner is excellent. Few others eating there, though, so a bit lacking atmosphere. "

Nothing except a playground in the village of Warcop. 5 miles to Appleby in one direction. Kirby Stephen in the other. Lovely countryside."
