"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. "We stayed in a twin room and the room is really spacious. Also love the public bath, though small, it’s clean and serves its purpose. Breakfast is simple and not a lot of choices. But the food is fresh. They might wish to have a larger flask for the coffee though, as it seems to run out frequently. Parking is very convenient, right in front of the hotel. Hotel is also conveniently located along the main road, with a 7-11 next door. Will definitely stay again if I visit Shimada in future. "
