Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel on the Bund by Nanjing Road
10/10 Excellent
"Really great hotel. Breakfast is awesome. Best I’ve seen anywhere in the world. Very central. Close to the Bund , around 20 min walk, and across the road from Metro station. The swimming pool needs to be deeper but clean and well staffed. Would love to stay here again. "
"He is indeed a very nice boutique hotel overall with a couple of minor issues, the room we checked in, seems to have an underlined toilet that smells quite badly, but it was resolved it with the app for front desk to exchange for a very good room, and I do wish there is an available in room safe box to keep some of my personal valuable items. Why I’m away from the room even the front desk offers help to store in the office, but it’s not convenient at all. Overall, I still highly recommend this hotel based on the value, convenience location and the stay experience.."
"Quiet but close to attractions. The free shuttle within 2 km was extremely helpful. All the staffs were extremely eager to help in anyway. The pool, workout room spa are all excellent. Room was well appointed and the views are amazing. Mr. Chen at the front desk was very knowledgeable and friendly during the check-in process in addition to every time seeing him. Luigi was very friendly during the checkout process. Thank you to everyone at the Mandarin Oriental. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future."
"Clean room and room servicing, good concierge team and good services. Young bell boy who was very service oriented, exceptionally customer oriented worth mentioning. Breakfast was average. Checkout service was average. "
"My room was nice but HOT! I called and asked them to fix the air conditioning. It took three calls before someone came. After they looked at it, they said give it time and it will get cooler. It never did. I called customer service no less than seven times before I could get someone to respond. They said they would bring me a fan. Somehow they forgot. After 30 minutes I called again. I asked to speak with the manager who after a while apologized and 15 minutes later brought a fan to the room. All I did was blow around hot air.
Breakfast was also disappointing. The coffee machines did not offer simple brewed coffee. The toaster was broken. The bacon was raw, the eggs were cold. Very disappointing experience. I made the manager aware of all of my situations and he said thank you sorry for the inconvenience. No explanation, no discount, just more disappointment.."
"Good location nearby to place of attraction. Breakfast was great and my children like it. Though the room rate is expensive for a 3 star hotel but will come back in future."
