Holiday Inn London - Luton Airport by IHG
6/10 Okay
"The reception and room itself was excellent and the room was cosy with comfortable mattress and was super clean.
The only problem was a waitress at the restaurant (young black girl with glasses), she missed part of my order hence I was never served it. I was surprised by it as it wasn't even busy as it was Sunday evening (7.06). Didn't ask about the food or informed about the part of the order when she took a plate (it shouldnt be my responsibility to chase what Ive ordered). Majority of time she spent by the bar counter having a good time and laughing with the staff there which didnt feel nice. In the end it turned out she didn't include it in the bill!
It seems like the area missed supervision too.
With 2 dishes and drinks that came to the total of £65, including service charge (12.5%!), you'd really expect better manners and service."
"My carryon bag was a struggle for me and the receptionist very kindly helped me to my room with the bag. The room wasn’t much bigger than the bed and had no window! But the best sleep of the entire trip! If I hadn’t set an alarm I would probably have missed my plane."
"Good news - Free parking for guests.
Bad news - No restaurant, no bar, some tea and coffee in room, no phone, hairdryer or safe in room.
Shower tray cracked, cracks in wall plaster and a tv with a 2 pin plug to insert into a 3 pin socket we thought was dangerous
Extremely basic and a lot run down. Stayed before our flight from Luton basic accommodation at a cheap price."
"I’m a regular but this time I experienced something somewhat discomforting - the radiator was making a lot of noise on and off (despite the fact that it wasn’t turned on). Maintenance appeared to have tried to rectify the problem. But on my second night, the radiator suddenly became very noisy again. It was quite late already and I didn’t want to switch room. Luckily, the noise level reduced about the time I went to bed"
"Great place for a stopover. We managed to check in early. Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Good breakfast options. Friendly staff and great views of planes taking off from Luton airport. Used Tesco vouchers for most of the costs."
