Sun Gardens Dubrovnik
8/10 Good
"Wait staff a little “stiff” in comparison to other nearby restaurants. Some unexpected restrictions at Cilantro i.e. can’t have a drink without food? Mini-bar repeatedly not replenished even after asking. We also didn’t get our “free” bottle of wine. Housekeeping has been better in other properties. Now, we are experienced world travelers but a first in beautiful Croatia and we extended our stay following a meeting."
"Lovely clean hotel with great view over the bay. Infinity pool on the roof with nice sun lounge area although it can get very busy at times. There are multiple lifts to the floors so access is very good.
Hotel is a 10 minute walk to Cavtat main harbour where all the ferry’s leave to the island tours and Dubrovnik. There are numerous restaurants and bars.
All in all a lovely peaceful holiday spot."
"We stayed for 4 nights and were very disappointed that they put us in the annex building and not the main building, which is far prettier and has the breakfast restaurant and a decent lobby. Our room was decent but facing the back hills not a pretty view and also the annex building has no character, it’s like a plain apartment building!
For the price we paid nothing special the location is good but definitely not worth being put in the annex building !
Breakfast was ok nothing spectacular. Again for a 5 star location and price the hotel is just average. Staff is indifferent."
"The room was clean but no space for opening the suitcases. Air conditioning was temperamental. Breakfast was good though. Not too close to old town where the main attractions are, but buses run regularly, once you figure out which bus stop is which."
"This hotel by far was best customer service and atmosphere!!! Dora at the front desk during check in was so kind to help us find my husband’s missing passport that fell out of his pocket in car transfer from airport. We were V level and the service at breakfast was impeccable!!! Everyone was so kind!! They knew it was our 25th anniversary and surprised us with heart petals and champagne!!! Bubbly hour was always so nice!! We really enjoyed lunch after the beach at restaurant and swimming in the Adriatic Sea was fantastic!!! The 6 bus is right outside of hotel to old town and was so convenient to go to the walls and dinner at night!! Perfect place to stay!! Thank you Valamar!! ❤️"
