We stayed in one of the larger rooms that had a beautiful view out to the entrance road and out to the hills. Love the old world charm of the room and the property. It used to be a small village originally. Bed was comfortable. Shower was a claw foot tub with curtain. Only minor issue is we could hear guests outside in the courtyard when they were coming and going from the property when our window was open. This is only noticeable because of how quiet it is out in Tuscany. Easy access out to the main outdoor eating area and restaurant/bar from our room (116). Food was great. The two pools were nice. Recommend you bring some bug spray if you come during the summer to early fall months. There were a lot of flies and mosquitos at the lower pool during our stay. The property is about a 20-30 min drive from Poggibonsi if you come in via train and cost us 45 euros. Others in our group came in via rental car or hired van.

Owner/Manager is lovely welcoming woman who is very helpful and patient. Food is outstanding. Rooms are updated and spacious. We had a wonderful stay and the prices were reasonable for such high quality. Only issue is the rocky dirt entrance road. It needs grading. It is very rough.

Great hotel in a beautiful environment

My wife and I had booked 3 nights at Tenuta di Ricavo as part of our 7 night stay in Tuscany. We were so impressed by the hotel that 30 minutes after arrival we booked a 4th night. The hotel is set in a beautiful and relaxing environment with fantastic scenery. The service was fantastic - relaxed but very professional. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on 2 of the nights and can strongly recommend the food. The hotel is situated just 40 minutes from Siena and 50 minutes from Florence making it the perfect base to visit these wonderful places. Don't forget to visit Castellina in Chianti which is the nearest village and just 6 minutes drive away. If you're looking for a relaxing place to unwind then this is the place for you. We will definitely be back!
