Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort - All Inclusive
8/10 Good
"Nice hotel, more a 4-star than a 5-star. The restaurants are not worth the experience. Rooms could use a bit of work and maintenance. Helpful and nice staff. Swim-out room was a nice option."
"My trip to the Barceló Bávaro Palace Hotel took place from May 16 to May 22, 2026. It is currently the off-season in the Dominican Republic, so the plane was half empty and there were not many people at the airport.
I booked the airport transfer to the hotel in advance via email through the Barceló hotel service at transfers.rd@barcelo.com. I paid for the round-trip transfer in cash at the airport, and it cost only $40.
The room was clean, and the best impression was left by the bed, which was extremely comfortable to sleep on. However, the hotel is quite old, so the rooms are in need of renovation. One day, the safe stopped working and I had to contact the manager and call security to fix it. Fortunately, it only took about 15–20 minutes, and the security staff member was very friendly and resolved the issue quickly.
Most of the time, I spent relaxing on the hotel beach and by the pool, enjoying different cocktails. Of particular interest was the beach to the right of the hotel, with its untouched Dominican wildlife, where you can be completely alone, knock coconuts down from palm trees, and drink them right on the beach.
I have the warmest memories of this trip, and I dream of returning again someday."
"Loved our stay at this brand new resort. Starting with the staff which is the forefront of any establishment. I can’t say how helpful, informative, and endearing the staff were the entire trip. Nathaneal was superb. All of the front desk were incredibly nice, hospitable, inviting, attentive, and accommodating. The amenities and all inclusive made it so much more worth while. Cleanliness was very much exceeding standard. Because of the area and construction as it’s an area in new development, the power outages were a tad annoying and alarming but did not dictate the trip and stay, thankfully. Would stay again for sure. Felt like home away from home."
