I love Cairns. I have traveled regularly for business for 14 years, but it's still where I bring the family for holidays. It is just a great hub for all the options in the surrounding areas. Tablelands, rainforest, reef: you name it, Cairns has it.

The main town was crowded & very tourist oriented. Plenty of good quality accommodation and great eateries . I preferred the areas north of Trinity Beach . Port Douglas was good. Plenty to do and see everywhere in Cairns. Weather is great

Very safe, comfortable, walkable port town with excellent access to GBR. Wonderful range of restaurants and shops. City is impeccably maintained by City staff and property owners, and airport is no more than 15 minutes away.

Must snorkel at the Great Barruer reef! Just be aware of the schools of jellyfish as I was not warned to be on the lookout! Use the built in mittens on thr lycra suit provided!

Cairns had a nice holiday feel by the Esplanade and Marina. Great trips to be had nearby, we particularly enjoyed Green Island. Nice buzz in Cairns on a Friday evening.

Cairns CBD is looking a bit shabby and in some parts seedy with quite a few empty shops and transient people walking around .. The Esplanade is absolutely lovely and very safe to walk .. The Pier Shopping Complex is dead and empty.. which is a shame
"It was neat and tidy. Good place for kids we had a large amount of kids there is a park for the little ones and a fun pirate pool for the big ones also a baby pool. Excellent place to stay!"
"The property was very clean. Very close to the Reef Fleet Terminal for boat trips. There are many restaurants in the area. You can go walking. Friendly staff. We arrived early at the hotel, and they stored our luggage in the lobby so we could go out and explore the area before our actual check-in time."
"You can judge quality by the quality of sunbeds. And they’ve got nice ones. Also you can tell 5 star by the quality of service received especially during breakfast as they waft around tidying plates but unnoticed as subtle. Mix up with paying twice but resolved satisfactorily. Quality products in bathroom. Definitely would stay again and recommend "
