The original building was built several hundred years ago as a monastery. It was converted to a hotel several years ago and Sonesta has added several more building for rooms, but, has preserved the look of the old monastery. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers and trees in abundance. The restaurant was good with hearty meals and friendly service. It was a very pleasant place to come back to after a day of touring and just sit back and relax.
Such a nice oasis in the Sacred Valley! The whole hotel is beautiful and the staff are wonderful (especially Victor at the front desk). They arranged taxi rides for us to the train station for our adventure to Machu Picchu and to Cusco. The rooms are super comfortable, the menu of food is absolutely delicious and the grounds are gorgeous!
The staff were very helpful and the rooms are nicely done. The hotel is around 15 minutes away from Urubamba. At the same time, It was relaxing and will definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip.
Great location—just a short walk from the main plaza, but in a quieter area by a nice park, which I preferred since the plaza can be very busy and loud.
There are quite a few stairs, but the staff helps with luggage and customer service was very good. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
They also offer complimentary coca tea in the lobby, plus a water bottle refill station.
This hotel surpassed our expectation! We had previously stayed at the Tambo del Inka and this property was much better. Tambo del Inka is VERY touristy and Taypikala provides a much more authentic luxury experience. Very quiet, exceptional food and great service. I would love to have spent a whole week there!
Wonderful experience! This hotel is set among the Andes, close to the Sacred Valley, with spectacular grounds that are very well manicured. The hotel lobby has a large, open look, with a fire place in the center, and a hidden bar downstairs with a nice little nook to relax in. The grounds offer hammocks, a fenced-in llama feeding area, planetarium, spa, and more. The rooms have majestic views and are both comfortable and very clean. This place is amazing. The staff are incredible, everything is perfectly decorated, it’s ideally located in the San Blas area, and the food and drinks are great! I can’t say enough positive things about our stay there. Will definitely stay there again!
My girlfriend and I were breath-taken at this beautiful place, the architecture and hospitality was amazing. The front desk and staff are the sweetest and always there to help you in any need. What shocked me the most was the chef! We’ve tried every single dinner dish and all i can say is WOW! We loved every night staying here. This hotel is excellent is you want to stay and Cusco and be close to the tours and restaurants. I would recommend is to avoid the rooms outside of the main rooms. They are located near the dining area. They are older and colder than the newer rooms. They are also more remote from the rest of the hotel. The Hotel accomodations were excellent and the service was great. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The first night I arrived at this hotel I had altitude sickness, and the staff were very response and moved very quickly to get me the help I needed. They provided me with an oxygen mask and gave me oxygen, immediately called the doctor and stayed with me in my room until the doctor arrived. They went above and beyond to make sure I had the best care possible. I am truly grateful for what they did.

The staff, particularly the concierge, was very helpful. The hotel is great. Two things to consider about the location:
1. Though close to the main square on the map, the hotel sits on a hill which at 12,000 feet (3,700 meters) is a strenuous walk for some.
2. there is not much in the way of dining or shops in the immediate (within about 4 blocks) of the hotel. It is a short 11 minute walk to the central square though.
Excellent Hotel if you want a walking distance location to the main plaza. Stuff was very friendly and helpful when in comes to tours, city information and food (Specially Cesar). Rooms were clean except that it was really cold and heater didnt do much. Overall great place to stay.
I had a lovely time at the Arabia hotel. Traveled by myself and felt safe and cared for. My only minor complaint is that the shower leaked into the bathroom floor. Thanks for the hospitality!

The room, bathroom and property was extremely clean and modern. The staff were very helpful. We had an early morning excursion so they had breakfast pre packed for us. Great WiFi, hot shower and there’s a restaurant on property incase you don’t feel like walking into town, which isn’t too far. Excellent property
