There are so many incredible food options in San Pedro for not a lot of money. Everyone was incredibly kind we felt very safe. The only unfortunate part is seeing garbage in a lot of places, but I see the difficulties of managing waste on an island

San Pedro and Ambergris Caye is beautiful but know this country is not heavily developed, so expect fewer creature comforts. The ocean views are gorgeous, the snorkeling and diving options are extensive, and there are lots of great restaurants.

San Pedro is not an all inclusive area with large hotels. It is a very busy area with small hotels, many golf carts. The great thing is the local citizens are living amount the tourists! You can get touristy food or local authentic meals.

It's a busy, dusty, crazy, local town... I loved the street vendors, the food, the Caribbean vibe... My kids loved the rides in the golf cart we rented for our week stay... North of town, the secret beach is a must...

It look a little rough, but once you acclimate it's really nice. The locals are very friendly and it's safe to walk / golf cart around even at night. Loved the culture and pace of the island.

We enjoy our time in San Pedro especially Secret beach. However you need to rent out a golf cart to get to Secret beach. The people were very nice and approachable. Many places to eat and drink. Caye Caulker a boat ride away, it was nice to visit als
"You really wouldn’t have to leave resort property beside boat tour for fishing snorkeling or Mayan tours.
Swim up pool bar- restaurant- tennis, kayaks etc all there.
With that said you would be doing a dis service not to explore the island- people are friendly, tons of places for food- secret beach is a must- say hi to “Speedy” and Alex at the bar. Grab some jet skis and there is a water park as well"
