Sanibel is a special place. We had a very nice time renting bikes and rode around the island, taking in the habitat. Dining options were limited. Doc Ford's offered exceptional dining and atmosphere.

It's still a hidden gem. Of course, some reconstruction is still in process. Some of my treasures are gone, but overall it remains a quiet, beautiful town.

Sanibel is rebuilding and much of the island is still closed. It was a lovely first trip here and we are glad we could support the economy as they recover from hurricanes in the last few years.

The island is still recovering from the last hurricane. The beach was great. The properties nearby are still not open. I hope they all recover completely and soon.

Loved Sanibel--it was my first time. Everything is in rebuild mode but the beaches were clean and quiet and great for shelling and long walks.

Sanibel has shown amazing resilience in bouncing cal from Hurricane Ian. The people are fabulous and it is a quieter beach town than most!

The Island is still very much rebuilding from the Hurricane in 2022 but that results in lots of brand new places to stay & eat

Unfortunate there was still a lot of damaged due to hurricane Ian two years ago. Such a shame we have been coming here for 30 years and its never been this bad before

It was hit last year by hurricane Ian and last week by Debby. The resort was in great shape and there were a number of restaurants close by the resort. Many of the homes an other structures were still in need of repair. The main roads were in good
"I absolutely loved this place. Easy walk to the beach. The rooms are clean and the beds are so comfy. I reacted an electric bike to get around and loved every moment of it. "
"We stayed in a room with an absolutely breathtaking view, the perfect way to start and end each day with the sound of the ocean. The front desk service at check-in and check-out was fantastic – friendly, welcoming, and efficient.
The beach is spectacular – peaceful, clean, and ideal for relaxing or shelling. Everything at the hotel is well cared for and thoughtfully maintained.
It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, nature, and exceptional hospitality!

"We stayed at the Palmview Creole Garden 7/18-7/21. I highly recommend the cottages and property. We had a wonderful time! The beach chairs and umbrella were in great condition, high quality and very convenient. The bikes were as well and we had great times riding them around the island. We had a couple of small issues but they were quickly resolved by the attentive staff. The cottage was perfect in size for the 3 of us and the kitchen and amenities in it were enough to cook things. The seating area is very inviting near the BBQ. My small suggestion would be to put tiki torches or some kind of bug repellant there. Bring bug spray!! Doc Fords and Mudbugs were excellent places to eat. Huxster's Store has delicious sandwiches. Overall, a wonderful weekend vacation. I will be staying at the Palmview anytime I return to Sanibel. "
"Tarpon Tale Inn is a hidden treasure! If you want a quiet getaway on Sanibel Island with quick access to the beach, a private patio and grill, access to bicycles, an outdoor hot/cold shower, a shell washing station, and beach chairs/umbrella/wagon - this is it! The owner, Joe, has an eye for detail and it shows throughout your stay. I wanted a beach experience and that’s exactly what I got at Tarpon Tale Inn. Other than to explore (Blind Pass, Bowman Beach, Turner Beach and Captiva) the island and pick up a few things at Jerry’s, I had no need to drive. Wickie’s and Tuttle’s are directly across the street, and a deli place is next door - the Sanibel lighthouse is a .6 mile bike ride and beach access is just around the corner is across the street. The king room with full kitchen was nicely equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy. So clean! The “no-seeums” were present and accounted for, mostly at dusk and dawn, not a Tarpon Tale Inn issue because they were everywhere on the island. Guests are offered use of bug spray in the office as a shared option. The Tarpon Tale has a quaint beach vibe I know you will love! "
"The pool/beach area was amazing! The poolside service was awesome. My only concern was me a senior and friend staying with me a senior were assigned a 4 th floor room with no elevator. It took almost an hour to find a space that had an elevator. Jared the security guy was so helpful. Then for check out the system evidently had an issue and tried to charge me for what I had paid for on Expedia. Loved the resort not the service or convenience "
"The cottage was clean and updated with everything you need, toiletries, kitchen pans and utensils, a full beach cart with everything needed for the beach. I took a few naps in the sun in the hammock. The location is great, an easy block to the beach. The only thing we had difficulty with was the gas grill did not heat up sufficiently to cook burgers. It was an incredible relaxing place for a family vacation, highly recommend it"
