I lived in Harrisburg for a number of years and I love the city. It's so beautiful, nestled between mountains, with the Susquehanna River meandering through it.

I suggest going sites seeing of historical points of interest. Spring and Summer are beautiful by the river. However the homeless tented resident issues need to be resolved ASAP or the tourist trade will drop significantly.

Harrisburg has a lot to offer visitors, but has its challenges like any other city with surrounding areas of blight and crime. When we saw all of the mobile blue flashing security systems outside in many business parking lots, must b high crime?

There is a great little pizza place not far from the hotel. Moez pizza was delicious. We try to find these little hidden gems instead of chain restaurants when we travel and this is a great one.

We ate at Gilligan's. Quite a nice place, good menu variety and the prices range from reasonable (my steak salad was $17) to too pricey for me (prime rib $34). Would go again.

The area was great! With many shopping and food options! It wasn't to close to the PA Farm Show Complex that we felt crowed but also wasn't to far away either.

Harrisburg is always a stopping place on our way to NY. We have always experienced friendly people and great value in this area.
"They had to switch rooms for us due to maintenance issues. Since there were 6 of us, they gave us an additional room and reimbursed us for our stay. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. We will definitely use Home 2 Suites for future stays. Thank you!! "
