Learn more about Fruita
Pedal through red rock country on world-class mountain bike trails that transformed this former fruit-growing town into an outdoor adventurer's paradise. The Colorado National Monument offers hiking paths where bighorn sheep appear against dramatic canyon backdrops. Dinosaur Journey Museum brings prehistoric residents to life with interactive exhibits. After conquering the trails, join locals at Hot Tomato for pizza that fuels both conversation and tomorrow's adventures. The annual Mike the Headless Chicken Festival celebrates the town's quirkiest claim to fame. Cool off with a rafting trip down the Colorado River, where guides share tales of the canyon's formation between rapids. Book campsites early at James M. Robb State Park – they fill quickly during wildflower season.

"Staff are great!"
Quality Inn Grand Junction near University
"The staff was lovely to a person. We did not try the breakfast, but it's clean and well-kept and comfortable."
Super 8 by Wyndham Fruita
"For me, my experience matches the reviews of many others. It's a bit dated, but feels very clean. I was on a business trip and usually camp outdoors for work, but monsoon storms forced me into moving into a hotel. And I wanted to not spend a lot as it's my small business and my expense. So enter this place. It matched my expectations based on other reviews. I was there in summer when I imagine rates are lower than usual, and was really affordable when I was there. Super cheap in fact. I was filming various locations for work, including some local paleontology sites (fossil sites), and this place is a prime location for that, positioned near some world class sites. There is a Dinosaur museum across the street, and Colorado National Monument's Fruita main gate is a couple miles away. It's also near many food options ranging from fast food to some local restaurants. I'd recommend El Tapatio. Just be careful with their margaritas as they were large, and strong. They burnt the throat a little going down (in a good way lol). Also within walking distance of the hotel if you have one too many. But all in all, I'd totally stay here again for the location, convenience, value, and cleanliness."

"I liked that there was gas stations close by as well as decent restaurants."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Grand Junction
"Good location and very professional staff. However, the swimming pool was closed, which was not made clear before we booked, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room."
Doubletree Hotel Grand Junction
"Good place to stay"
Wine Country Inn Palisade
"Not sure why, because there was no explanation, but there was a power outage during the day before we checked in, and there was another that happened our last evening there, and lasted until after 10 PM, while we were sleeping."
Hotel Maverick
"It was the nicest hotel in the area."
Comfort Inn & Suites Fruita - Grand Junction
"Our room 314 had either had or has a leak in the bathroom probably the toilet. The flooring was buckled and the door was hard to open and close. Other than that it was a nice room."
