If you like the great outdoors, you might want to take time to explore Yellowstone National Park North Entrance, one of the best green spaces located 0.4 mi (0.7 km) from central Gardiner. Why not take a stroll along the riverfront and watch the sunset while you're here? Want to stretch your legs some more? Head to Albright Visitor Center and Arch Park, both nearby.
If you're planning a bit of sightseeing during your trip, head to Roosevelt Arch— just one of the monuments in central Gardiner. Why not take a stroll along the riverfront and watch the sunset while you're here?
If massages and hot tubs are your thing, you might want to pamper yourself at Yellowstone Hot Springs located 7 mi (11.3 km) from central Gardiner. Gardiner has other popular activities such as Yellowstone National Park.
Gardiner Community Library is just one of the places to see in Gardiner, so why not enjoy the other things to explore during your travels? Stroll along the area's riverfront, or simply savor its top-notch restaurants.
Saddle up for a horseback ride through sagebrush-dotted plains, keeping an eye out for roaming bison and elk. Soak in natural hot springs after a day exploring nearby Yellowstone National Park's geothermal wonders and wildlife-rich valleys.
Staying in Gardiner is my preference compared to inside Yellowstone National Park. Provides creature comfort benefits of staying in a small town vs only having access to the same cafe, cafeteria, or single restaurant such as inside the park.

Gardiner is the place to go for your Yellowstone experience. Close to the North Gate and the road is always open. Best time to go is mid to late May for full park access.

Gardiner is a cool little town, but it needs more economical dining options and more varied dining options. Food is very expensive, and mostly read meat. Load up in Bozeman before you head to Gardiner.

Gardiner is a tourist town. Groceries are very expensive. Lots of places to eat and shop for souvenirs. Maybe a mile from the North Gate of Yellowstone, 5 miles to Mammoth Hot Springs.

A quaint town with many dining options and east access to Yellowstone and points north.
"Absoroka Lodge is one of the best places I’ve stayed. The room was spacious and clean. I wish we had booked more nights there. My only complaint is that it was not clear to me that there was no sofa in the “suite” that was supposed to sleep 5. I wasn’t too surprised though as there was conflicting information about this on different booking sites. No rollaway available either. But there was plenty of room, and we had plenty of blankets in the car, so one of my boys made a nest on the floor and we got along just fine. I hope to go to Gardiner again someday and stay at Absaroka Lodge. "
"Friendly staff and comfortable, well appointed rooms. Great location with a good range of places to eat nearby. Riverside area is delightful to sit and watch the river and grazing elk. Highly recommend. "
"We enjoyed the peacefulness and quiet after a day of visiting Yellowstone. The hosts were very nice people and made every effort to make our stay a wonderful experience. "
"The cabin was very clean and comfortable and worked really well for my family of 4. Check in and check out was great and very convenient. All around amazing experience!"
"It's a quaint, older property but clean and well maintained. It less than a mile of the north entrance of Yellowstone. It is family owned and friendly. I enjoyed watching the elk in the front of the property in the evening. The sunrise on the mountains was majestic with my morning coffee. It was very peaceful and serene. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I would definitely recommend this place. "
