Wander the windswept streets of this southernmost city, where colorful houses stand defiantly against the Patagonian elements. Visit the Nao Victoria Museum to board a full-scale replica of Magellan's ship, then venture to nearby Magdalena Island for penguin encounters.
We booked day tours to Torres del Paine National park and Magdalena Island for penguins. If there is a next time I would look into taking a 3 to 4 day cruise to explore the straight of Magellan. Restaurants were fantastic.

The only day to for our excursion to see the Magellanic penguins was cancelled without our knowledge. The excursion had my husband's contact information-no attempt was made to contact us about the cancellation.

"This a great place to stay for a few days in Punta Arenas. It is close to the heart of the downtown but not so much that it is noisy. The little kitchenette is perfect for a meal in and the breakfast offerings were very sweet. The bed was also comfy and the room was very clean. Thanks to the staff for their warm welcome and friendliness!"
"Had a great stay - the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was nice, the bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. Breakfast was also good with a nice variety of options - fruit, yoghurts, juices, cereal, meat and cheese or pastries. I definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again :)"
