"The hotel is very strange and you have to check in online then you get given a code walk to your room and on the wall next to your room is a lockbox where you enter that code to get your key to get into the room all of that takes a very long time and it feels more like a Airbnb rental than an actual hotel.
The bar has no drinks to sell and we soon found out in the town that the hotel has recently shut down and reopened under new ownership.
My hunch would be the new owners have never run a hotel before."
"Staff helpful and pleasant except for one staff member at breakfast who was actually rude and unhelpful, which was a shame as she let the hotel down. However, overall, nice place and welcoming."
"This hotel is well situated and the reception and bar areas are top class. The staff also are not to be faulted, providing a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble.
The bedroom and decor however, leave much to be improved upon. Poor paint finishing, a wash basin in the main bedroom area separate from the shower and toilet, a dreadfully weak shower and a strange pump noise going on throughout the day/night intermittently.
All easily remedied which would make this welcoming hotel one of the best in Shanklin I reckon."
"Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned."
