"We chose the Greatt Hotel for its location - 1 block from the Shilin Night Market (one of the best in Asia) and close to the Shilin train station - straight shot to CKS Memorial and convenient 15-minute bus to National Palace Museum. It is a bit spartan, but the rooms are clean and the bathroom was great. Reception was very nice and useful but did not speak English - the use of Google Translate solved all problems. I definitely recommend this hotel."

"Clean, modern boutique hotel, part of a small chain. On a quiet back street but close to subway (MRT) access. Close to a long-running Taipei morning market and a large park. The mattress, while still firm, is a bit softer and more comfortable than is typical in Taiwan hotels. The staff is always helpful."

"Good hotel in the suburbs of Taipei. The area is not touristic but if you want to see the real Taiwan is a nice place to stay. Metro station is just 2min away and you find plenty of places to eat. The hotel is super clean, rooms are very good size and bed is comfortable. The area is very quiet so you will have a good sleep. The staff of polite and ok. Taking the metro will take you very quick to the main attractions "

"Stayed here for a week while visiting Taiwan, the metro station is across the street, there's convenient bus stops around too. I enjoyed visiting Duhua street, the riverside park and Yong Le market, all of those walking distance. I would definitely consider coming back and staying to see the refurbished rooms."

The room was equipped with the drinking water, tea/instant coffee, bathroom essentials and disposable slippers. My suggestion for improvement was about the floor carpet of which was old and stained. Given the choice, we would have preferred a simpler breakfast option of cereal and orange juice. A short train or taxi ride would take you to the Taipei City Mall. It is huge, All underground and complete with a high end department store spread over 2 floors. The food hall is incredible with excellent choices and very reasonable...
