We had a fantastic stay at Epic Tamarindo! The property is clean, well-maintained, and conveniently close to several beaches. The rooms are spacious, and we absolutely loved the private plunge pool. We’ll definitely be back!
We absolutely loved this hotel from check in to check out and everything in between. It was close to the action, but far enough to where you didn't have to deal with noise. The back gate to the "alleyway" directly to central road was absolutely perfect so you didn't have to walk down the rocky dirt road near the front entrance. When we arrived, the manager was called to tell us that unfortunately the hotel had been overbooked and our room had been given away. Needless to say, we were NOT HAPPY - especially because we had booked many months previous. Maik, the manager apologized profusely and told us that he had secured an oceanfront condo just a few hundred meters away for us.

We really liked this hotel. The room was spacious, the beds were comfy, and the walk-in shower was large. The cleaning staff was thorough. The open-air lobby featured a full bar, dining, and free wi-fi. No wi-fi in the rooms. The food and drink prices were lower than a downtown restaurant in our home town. The food was delicious. Hotel was awesome, staff is great. If I had a complaint I’d have to say the cost of the food. 1st night of arrival got a hamburger, a salad, and the wife and I each got one drink. The bill was $75. From that point on we went and ate at Tamarindo. Our 1st day in Tamarindo breakfast, lunch, and dinner was $80 total!
This place was a rare find in a more developed part of Costa Rica. Owner and staff were lovely. Location to beach was an adventure in itself. Diner was delicious and fairly priced as was breakfast. Great low key place. Saw monkeys too. The boardwalk through mangroves to beach sunset was a beautiful surprise.
