Embassies and multinational corporations stand tall next to high-end malls where fashion lovers can explore Pink City and Police Plaza Concord. The serene Gulshan Lake Park offers a perfect escape with its waterfront promenade, while nearby temples and mosques showcase the area's cultural richness. The dining scene caters to sophisticated palates with upscale Bengali cuisine and international restaurants clustered around Gulshan Circle. Accommodation options range from luxury hotels to serviced apartments with all the modern amenities. Getting around is simple with plentiful auto-rickshaws and ride-sharing services that connect you to Dhaka's key attractions.

Banani
Banani brings the luxe side of Dhaka to life with gleaming shopping malls, designer boutiques, and corporate towers filled with suits making moves. Road 11 buzzes with trendy cafés and upscale restaurants where well-dressed locals clink glasses late into the evening. The tree-lined streets offer a refreshing escape from Dhaka's usual hustle. Getting around is a breeze with abundant rickshaws, CNGs, and ride-sharing options at your fingertips. Stay in style at luxury hotels or serviced apartments with all the premium amenities you'd expect. The international dining scene delivers everything from fusion cuisine to perfectly crafted espressos, though your wallet might feel a bit lighter afterward.

Uttara
Uttara offers a breath of fresh air from Dhaka's usual hustle. This planned residential neighborhood serves up wide roads, quiet vibes, and organized sectors that feel almost un-Dhaka-like. Travelers can shop at Aarong Flagship Outlet or Update Tower, stroll around Uttara Lake, or enjoy local restaurants without the downtown chaos. Getting around is surprisingly easy with abundant CNG auto-rickshaws and ride-sharing options zooming along grid-pattern streets. Budget-friendly hotels and guesthouses cater to airport travelers, while local eateries serve up delicious Bengali cuisine that won't break the bank. The nearby international airport makes Uttara perfect for smooth arrivals and departures.

Getting around is simple with plentiful rickshaws and ride-sharing options connecting you to attractions like Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban. You'll find upscale Bengali restaurants alongside student-friendly cafes serving steaming cups of tea. Learn more about Dhaka
Rickshaws weave through crowded streets like schools of fish, their colorful canopies creating a moving mosaic against concrete buildings. The Bangladesh National Museum offers refuge from the sensory overload, with artifacts telling stories of ancient Bengal. Haggle good-naturedly in New Market, where vendors sell everything from saris to spices with theatrical flair. The pink-hued Ahsan Manzil palace stands as a reminder of more genteel times. Cricket matches at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium transform into jubilant citywide celebrations when Bangladesh wins. Sample street food from roadside vendors – the fragrant biryani alone justifies the visit. Curzon Hall's red brick façade represents the curious architectural marriage of Mughal and European styles that defines much of the city.

Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel
"I love this hotel. My favourite in Dhaka. Lovely staff, great breakfast, clean rooms dm the most wonderful shower. Make sure you use the rooftop pool"
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka
"Overall, the amenities were good and everything we needed was provided. We also appreciated the traditional Bangladeshi style, including the solid timber furniture. The décor being older is not an issue in itself and gives the hotel character. However, cleanliness and maintenance were below what I would expect from a 5-star hotel. The minibar, shower screen, bathroom door, and areas of wallpaper were stained, yet appeared to simply need a proper clean. The bathroom could be significantly improved by removing and replacing the old silicone, which was missing, loose and discoloured in places, making the whole bathroom appear tired and dirty. The toilet was an older design where the water rises considerably when flushed, which is unpleasant to watch, and the flush was incredibly loud – loud enough to hear neighbouring rooms and wake us at night. The toilet-roll holder was awkwardly positioned behind you and the bidet hose was unnecessarily long, rubbing against the vanity and making noise. The hairdryer was a very old, flimsy 1970s-style model and was falling apart. The minibar door was cracked but worked, and the older air-conditioning was quite loud, so we had to use it on low to sleep. Our room card also failed a couple of times. Both the breakfast and evening buffets were excellent with a great selection. My only disappointment was being served a local Diet Coke but charged around 1,000 BDT, closer to an imported-drink price."
