Taman Jubilee
Taman Jubilee offers an authentic slice of Malaysian suburban life away from Ipoh's tourist buzz. The quiet residential streets lined with terraced houses provide a peaceful escape where you can watch local families go about their daily routines. Neighborhood kopitiams and mamak stalls serve up delicious, wallet-friendly Malaysian dishes that won't break the bank. Budget-conscious travelers will appreciate the homestays and guesthouses that cost less than city center accommodations. Getting around requires some planning—grab cars are readily available, but public buses run infrequently. The neighborhood's calm atmosphere makes evening strolls pleasant, though most shops close early.

Jawa
Jawa offers a slice of authentic Javanese life tucked away in Ipoh's quieter corners. Stroll through narrow residential lanes where daily life unfolds naturally—children play in streets while aromas of lemongrass and coconut milk fill the air. Traditional warungs serve up delicious gudeg and soto ayam for curious food adventurers. Small family-run shops sell colorful spices and sambal varieties at prices well below city averages. The neighborhood quiets down by 9pm, with minimal tourist infrastructure but maximum cultural immersion. Getting around requires ride-sharing services or walking the uncrowded streets where locals offer polite nods to respectful visitors.
Taman Canning
Taman Canning gives you a slice of real Malaysian suburban life without the touristy buzz. The neighborhood hums with local kopitiam coffee shops and mamak stalls where you can feast on authentic Malaysian dishes for pocket-friendly prices. Kids play in small neighborhood parks while neighbors chat across front gardens of colorful terrace houses. Perak Stadium sits nearby for sports fans. Getting around is easiest with Grab ride-sharing since public buses run infrequently. Budget guesthouses and family-run homestays offer accommodations at half the price of central Ipoh spots. The quiet streets make for peaceful evening strolls, though don't expect nightlife—this place winds down after sunset.

Nature lovers will appreciate the lush tropical surroundings, with limestone caves and therapeutic hot springs just a short drive away. Kinta City Shopping Centre and the local night market provide glimpses into everyday Malaysian life. Small family-run kopitiams serve authentic Malaysian breakfast fare while budget-friendly homestays offer cultural insights from friendly local hosts. Getting around requires planning as public transport is limited, but the area's peaceful streets make for pleasant morning walks among frangipani and bougainvillea blooms.

Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh

WEIL Hotel
"The hotel is location is great. I stayed 4 nights in the Superior King Room on th 12th floor, it was spacious and clean, bed was good but pillows can be better. However the toilet paper is very hard and rough, I have expected better for this kind of hotel. Last day the housekeeper forgot to give bathtowels, I called the receptionist and requested for new ones, but she seems not believing me and want to check first. I found it very strange, why would I lie about it. She did sent someone, then the housekeeper wants to check again in my room. Then I feel offended, not sure why they want to keep checking and searching for something there is not there. That's waste of my time. Most of the staff are friendly and nice, but there was a staff who quite has a big mouth, stopping me to appraise the piano on the first level, well there were no sign that guests are not supposed to play on it, I apologised for playing it. but he seems very upset and kept saying that is not meant for play and only decoration. That's very rude of him, if you don't want people to touch it then don't put the piano there. As a world traveller pianos are put in airports, train stations, malls etc for piano users. These last two points kinda ruin my mood during the stay, very unfortunate."

"Nice pool, gym and room is great. Good to hv a convenient store as well. It will be great if there’s laundry at the hotel."
1969 DKelly Hotel
"We love the hotel’s Art Deco/contemporary luxury design, making it a truly unique and beautiful property. A lot of thought goes into every aspect from the impressive reception lobby to the luxurious bed linen. The welcome tea hosted on the Executive Floor lounge is a nice and hospitable gesture (well done)! Don’t miss going up to the rooftop garden. The views are amazing! The staff are helpful and friendly. Special mention of the Concierge Mr Amin who has a cheerful smile for everyone. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we have had. We will definitely choose to stay at the D’Kelly again when we next visit Ipoh. We wish the 1969 D’Kelly brand will carry across other Malaysian cities. Book it, you will not regret it."
AC Hotels by Marriott Ipoh
"Clean and spacious room. Courteous staff."
Hotel Excelsior
"Hotel Excelsior is strategically located in Ipoh downtown and many well-regarded eateries are within walking distance. We always stay here just for this reason. Just imagine: directly opposite the hotel is the renowned Oversea Restaurant that offers the finest Cantonese cuisine. The rooms are spacious with a bright and cheery vibe. Seems like the hotel has gonr through recent refurbishment. Cost is also reasonable. A good place to stay at."
Bedrock Hotel
"Staff is exceptional and very friendly. Nice location."
M Boutique Station 18
"There is a Aeon Mall & Supermarket in 5 mins walking distance; that is the best point of the hotel. Limited hotel car park hence I have to park outside hotel which is chargeable. The staff is friendly and helpful."
M Boutique Hotel
"Excellent and quirky hotel , would stay there again"
