"We stayed in a family suite at 115 The Strand for 1 week with our 10 month old however, we were disappointed by some aspects of our stay.
• On our first night, guests in the room opposite (also a family suite) were partying loudly and banging on our door at 5am, which was distressing, especially travelling with a young baby
• The shower needed fixing multiple times to work properly (too hot for an adult, never mind a baby, and very low pressure).
• The cot mattress was heavily stained and had to be covered before we could use it for our baby.
• The kitchen & bathroom were significantly smaller than shown in the listing photos & weren’t very suitable for a family stay.
• Breakfast was limited with minimal changes and few healthy options, and was not particularly suitable for young children.
• At the Aqualuna pool, we disappointed to learn that the larger sunbeds (which would have been more suitable to use with our baby) charged €50 per day even with a hotel guest discount. Many remained empty throughout the day.
Taken together, the hotel has felt considerably less family-friendly than we hoped. We tried to address our concerns with the manager during our stay but received no response.
On the positive side, all staff were extremely helpful & responsive, which we genuinely appreciated."
"Check the pool times before you book! I didn't realise the pool is owned by a separate organisation; Manta Beach Club. Therefore hotel guests do not have round the clock access. There's a window of 10am to 6pm were you are allowed to use the facilities. During this time you're probably away from the hotel exploring Malta so may not get used of it. If I knew this I would have booked a different hotel
On a more positive note, the hotel is really nice. The staff are pleasant and housekeeping do a really good job in the morning and evening. The rooms are excellent; they're large, modern and have good sound proofing.
The hotel location is good. It's close to the ferries, bars and restaurants but away from the noise of the nightlife.
Final thing to note is the fridge in the room is just an empty fridge, sadly it's not a stocked mini bar. I expected a complimentary beer, small wine and a couple of soft drinks like other hotels I've stayed at. Oh well!"
"On arrival Santiago was just amazing, helping us chnage our room as we was right opposite a lift.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Sliema.
We didnt have breakfast at the hotel.
Most annoying part is not being able to take even a bottle of water to the rooftop pool or beach club. Spoke to the duty manager who said it was hospitality policy, yet he couldn't show me the policy ! 🙄
Spa is basic, the heated beds dont work and the sauna wasn't working one of the days.
I wouldn't stay again at this hotel but cannot commend Santiago enough. What a genuine kind staff member he is !"
"Clean and well maintained room, slightly off the main road so was nice and quiet, great to have to option to use the beach club on the waterside, would have been nice to have a bar or restaurant for the evening on site"
"Enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt. We didn't get off to a great start when we were unable to use our bathroom facilities due to some work/maintenance on the plumbing. It was 2 hrs before the work was done and it was inconvenient. Otherwise the hotel was very enjoyable. I especially want to note that your concierge had the day off when we needed some assistance with our return and flights and Diego stepped in to help us. Wow! He was fantastic! You should make him a concierge! He was patient, helpful and helped us through a problem with the airline until it was resolved. What an exceptional staff member!!!
The location is great and was well sheltered from a sometimes busy and loud St Julians district. I would definitely stay again (minus the plumbing problems!)."
"Our room was lovely. We specifically asked for a quiet room as we heard on some reviews things can be loud due to the club district. The staff were very accommodating and nice. The cleaner staff were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and there were many vegetarian options. The indoor pool was so fun and nice. The rooftop pool has a gorgeous view of St Julian’s and we spent a lot of time there. It’s conveniently located in the shopping complex so anything you need is here. And if you are looking to party there are a lot of clubs in the area. Overall 10/10. Slay!!"
