"Do not stay at this hotel.
One. Start with the upsell at check-in. You arrive jetlagged with a promise of a 3 PM ready room. There is none, but for a small fee, they will upgrade you to a deluxe room, which is ready. Not cool.
Two. the room. I don’t know when this was built, but the room is not large by European standards, does not have any deluxe amenities, and his furnished in 1950s style dark brown plastic laminate over everything.
Three. The table and chairs. Some of the other deluxe rooms actually had a large table and two comfortable chairs. Our room had a small table and only one chair. And the hotel staff was really perplexed that we wanted a second one and they brought up an uncomfortable chair
Four. Check in and check out. It looked like they had hired a brand new staff who had no clue how to do the simple task of checking people in and then checking them out. They were slow, and made mistakes – – we were asked to pay $270 at checkout, then we received a notice that they were sending us $330 in refund because they made an error. In this technological age, there is no excuse for a hotel not being able to give you an accurate bill.
Five staff the only staff who knew what they were doing and were confident, speedy, and friendly were the bell men. On departure, they got our free giant suitcases from the room to the trunk of the taxi in minutes. They were awesome."
"We spent 4 nights there, very nice and clean hotel. It’s in a quiet area, about 15 mins drive to museum. Staff are very friendly and showed us the attractions. It has an open top pool, though it was closed so we didn’t get to see. The gym has some basic equipment but good enough. The only thing surprised us is the 10% city tax they charged, but we found out it’s for everyone visiting Barcelona, so it’s not hotel charges. Overall, we had wonderful stays there."
"The hotel is located in a historic building and it has been updated. But the decour is quite poor. The corridors are dark and the room's furniture are quite simple. The reception lounge is furnished with quite strange sofas and no professional design seems to be involved."
"I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to visit the ramblas area of Barcelona. It's clean, friendly, and very convenient to everything. My family and I walked absolutely everywhere from the hotel and when we couldn't walk the Hop on Hop off bus was very close. The buffet was excellent."
