Barceló Bávaro Palace - All Inclusive
2/10 Terrible
"We typically book ant least one all-inclusive resort per year and we will not be returning to this one! The property was clean and beautiful, however the service was terrible! Every single day at breakfast we had to go track down a staff member for some water or coffee and a clean table as they all just stand around talking to each other. The bars and the restaurants were better, but still no where near the level of service we just got at the secrets royal beach just a few months ago when we were there! The liquor options are terrible and it doesn’t matter if you have premium or not! Premium isn’t worth the money - all you get is a little lounge area to check into and free water park access (which is free 1 day for everyone and $10/person/day. Certainly not worth the $40/person/day the premium costs.
And if you plan to visit and don’t speak Spanish, you will have a difficult time here. I’ve found that DR is never super English friendly but typically the staff will try to work with you where I found the staff at this resort to be very rude and dismissive. Booking reservations for dinner was a nightmare and even restaurants that looked half full with NO LINE would deny entry. And we are laid back people… not Karen like, not complainers, just normal friendly people wanting to have a nice vacation with our two teen daughters.
We won’t be coming back here again and I’m now hesitant to book any other Barcelo resort."
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana an All-Inclusive Resort

"This Hard Rock Hotel is beautiful, extremely large and has many amenities. There are a multitude of things to do, places to eat, and shopping galore. My other observations. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night, so we didn't get to do most of the activities that the hotel offers. My daughter does plans to visit again next year for her birthday. There were a few negative issues with our room. The shower had a ball of hair near the drain, our beds had bugs in them. They were in the pillow case and we found white wings at the end of the bed. When we reported it to the sales person upon exiting, he said that it was probably flying ants. There was a collection of ants near the balcony as well. My suggestion to the management is to exterminate the rooms and make sure that the room is thoroughly checked before assigning it to guests. Even though our room had these issues, we will return again."
"Property is beautiful, 2 gorgeous swimming pools . By the beach, very good food.
Bad - The room i was in had cockroaches.
Staff has TERRIBLE ENGLISH speaking skills, very tough communicating with them, always had to have Google translate on, even for basic requests and instructions.
Overall ok experience, definitely not a 5 star as advertised."
"We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. One thing we especially loved was the variety of restaurants available. Having different options every night kept the experience fresh and made dinners something we looked forward to each evening.
What stood out the most, though, was the level of service from the staff. During our stay, there was a small miscommunication issue, but the hotel responded quickly, professionally, and with genuine care. Instead of letting it impact the trip, they turned the situation around and made our stay go from good to truly great. That kind of attentiveness and hospitality makes a lasting impression, and we would happily stay here again."

"After check in moving to the room, the room was not ready. Dirty and used towels on the floor and bed from the last guest. We reclaim in reception and fast they assigned another room ready and clean. Excellent restaurants and pools with bar and activities at night. Michael Jackson show was amazing. I’ll be back again maybe next September."
Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa - Adults Only - All Inclusive

"Been here in 2015 it totally change food got a little better still horrible, room is better loved the room, pool party everything is on a strict time they made us get out the restaurant so they can change for lunch felt rush, the bartenders if you ain’t tipping a dollar or two they gone serve your drink when they want. They have a limit for the day if they run out a certain drink you gotta go to bar to bar to find it"
"The Buffett by the lobby had polite employees, the Buffett by the beach was not the best in food and employees.
With exception of 3 or 4 waiters he rest were rude.
The maid assigned to my room was very polite.
The facilities were not very clean and my room had a leak which was not fixed by the time I left."
