"Aberdour is a lovely little old gem in an idyllic neighborhood, close to the train station. It’s run by the inimitable Amanda, who is the best host I’ve ever met. The place is older, and a bit frayed- but in the way the Velveteen Rabbit is frayed. It’s a lovely old place, simple, clean and cared for, and I was immediately made to feel that I was also cared for. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom’s not fancy but absolutely serviceable, with good hot water in the shower. The breakfast is incredible. Amanda is incredible. Her dog is incredible. I could not love it here more."

"Had a 1 night stay with husband and daughter. Hotel is very central and had a nice friendly atmosphere. All the staff were exceptional and couldn’t do more for you. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit as food is outstanding. Bar area got quite roudy at one point with a stag do, so we’d shed our meal from the bar to the restaurant upstairs. Later the bar was fine and had a nice selection of drinks. The room was fine and was quite soundproof considering it’s on the main road. Breakfast was included in the price and was ok. Could possibly be more continental choices but hot food was nice and poached eggs cooked to perfection. "

"Hotel has nice decor and the room was clean. However, noisy guests and smoking marijuana outside the hotel due to location (lots of strange pubs nearby). The photo of the hotel is deceiving. It's right on a main road which is in a pretty run down area. SPA We booked to have a nice relax in steam room and pool. However, you have to pay £50 per person just to sit in a steam room for 2 hours. A bit excessive."
