Our stay was decent overall. Even though the room needs an update it was spacious for a family of four. The breakfast buffet was nice with a wide variety of food. However the heating in the room was old school radiator heating and unfortunately one of the units was not working properly therefore our room was a little chilly during the night.
This is the third time staying here in 6/7 years. Clean, comfortable, basic but just what you need. We visit family close-by so its perfect. Right by the shops and walking streets, opposite the train-station (never hear the trains and its not a high speed mainline). They serve a awesome breakfast and excellent coffee. Love this hotel !
Enjoyed the atmosphere of the old manor. Wife and I enjoyed walking the grounds, eating great food for dinner and breakfast and not having any electronic distractions in the room (they have hi-speed wifi if you just need to get online).
Staff and service was fantastic as were the views.
The dinner was prepared with many ingredients grown right on the property.
We had to check in at a different hotel about a 3 min walk away which was odd. And all of the staff and breakfast was at that hotel too. Our hotel had some construction on the main floor which made it a bit of a mess but once we made it to our room no complaints. The room was clean and in great condition and very close to the main square.
The hostel was in a very old building. The kitchen was very nice with everything we needed. Our room, with two bunk beds was very small and rustic. The mattress and pillow were very worn. I think these rooms have had a lot of use and it shows. No light in the hallway. Many things needed attention, but it seemed like this operation has other priorities with its campground, cottages, and restaurant. The restaurant did offer a very good meal at a good price.
