We probably needed more time given the snow and the dent that put in our exploring on foot. The food was surprisingly good and there were ample choices to be found all over town. Prices were very reasonable. We found the Bulgarians very friendly.

Sofia was excellent as a destination for a short break, taking in some football matches in the city. The Metro and buses were clean, reliable, and we felt safe at all times. Friendly people and very good value for money.

Sofia has a lot of culture and history to explore with lots of religious buildings, museums and galleries to explore. The weather we enjoyed in late April was very nice and Bulgarian cuisine was fantastic.

If you have mobility issues Sofia may be challenging, road crossings often lack dropped curbs, and some of the crossings across busy roads in the centre require you to go underground via stairs.

There are a number of historical sites in the city and the shopping centres (Mall of Sofia and Serdika shopping centre) were not bad. A very tidy place but you do have to be prepared travel to monuments like Boyana church and Rila Monastery.

"Bed was very comfortable. There was a quirky, lovely turquoise armchair that l particularky liked and the room was large and had good natural light that an artist would appreciate."
"The property is a bit dated but the price cannot be beaten! With very good breakfast choices! A bit of a walk to the center of town but still manageable. Would recommend it!"
