Glacier Bay Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Glacier Bay Lodge is several miles outside of the small town of Gustavus, but the destination of choice for travelers to the area, providing an optimal staging place for trips out to the glacier. We hiked the coast on the forest trails running north and south from the lodge. Both trails are extremely well maintained and gorgeous the whole way through. The staff was more than happy to ensure we knew all of the risks in the area and allow us to borrow bear spray just in case things went sideways. Not convenient if wanting to visit Gustavus, but a problem easily solved with a rental. Otherwise, shuttle service is available to and from the airport without the need to rent a car if you are visiting for the glacier tours."
