This "resort" is a rectangular strip of land about 40 paces wide and 200 long with the short edge bordering a country road across which is the sea. When I visited there was no beach to talk about. The property is rather isolated in a cluster of houses and similar properties. There are about 5 large cabins on the property and a pool that would be crowded with 20 people in it . A truly beautiful and special place. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which was so lovely and provided the perfect amount of space for us and our teenage daughter. The hotel was lovely, with real charm and character. We wish we could have spent longer in Portaria!
What a wonderful hotel!!! The hotel was elegant, very clean, very thought out. There wasnt anything missing. There was even a kitchenette an a Nespresso machine, which was a lovely touch. The rooms were very comfortable in size. Even the elevator was pretty. Tonia who greeted us and checked us in was just lovely and as quick as you can get to satisfy your needs. In minutes she found a hairdresser one of us needed, she made reservations at a fabuloys local pub/eatery famous for their appetizers...
The hotel and hotel staff were great. Comfortable clean rooms and bathrooms. Only complaint is the location. If you plan on staying here rent a car and be very comfortable driving a stick shift. Portaria is a 30min drive from Volos and 1hr drive to the east coast. There are some restaurants in Portaria but not much else to do in this area.
