We stayed in a standard room in the main building and it was so lovely! The breakfast was awesome and the walk down to the village was convenient. This hotel has a lovely restaurant attached with great food. Zaros Lake is just around the corner. My favorite part was the spring water running down the side of the road. A very lovely village to visit on your trip around Crete.
Perfect place to stay away from the chaos of Heraklion! The food in the restaurant is AMAZING - definitely try the grilled mushrooms if you can (we had it twice)! The homemade white and red wine are also amazing! The room was clean and spacious, and the property itself is beautiful and peaceful. Nicolas was an amazing dinner host. We loved every minute of our stay!
Beautiful grounds, pool and vistas. Very friendly staff, and breakfast was very good. Just be aware you’re driving narrow country roads to get up to the property, about 1/2 mile outside Archanes. We’d do it again without hesitation, but probably not with the unit we booked. It had a loft bedroom with steep stairs and low ceiling height for half the loft. Fine for shorter folks or younger people. Not ideal at age 70.
We initially had booked 2 nights here and had fortunately not booked any of our 3 remaining nights in Crete. As soon as we stepped foot in the place, we immediately booked another 2 nights. The house was amazing! It had a full kitchen, loft, wooden spiral staircase, 2 bathrooms, and 2 balconies. The village itself was very quaint and friendly with exceptional views of the surrounding countryside. The local restaurant had delicious traditional food at inexpensive prices and a great balcony view...
A big reason to come to Crete and stay in Heraklion is Captain Napoleon. Fantastic breakfast included, wonderful rooftop views, nice pool, good room with balcony, not far from the airport and ferries, and best of all the staff went truly above and beyond to make our stay and vacation great.
Convenient location to museum; walking distance to all; very helpful staff, easy parking, very modern "high tech" building and we needed guidance for operating AC among other things; so ask your questions. We had 2 sinks and showers( !) an additional perk; I would recommend screens for windows to be able to open them. gym was a nice addition.
We’ve been traveling in Greece for a month and this stay has been the most amazing. The host has thought of every luxury and convenience. From the private pool to the high-end finish out of the houses, it is just stunning. The kitchen is so well stocked to make anything. From the microwave to the oven to the electric griddle to the outdoor gas grill, the washer and dishwasher. The parking for your car is very secure. We were meeting my family for a holiday. The resort is in a close proximity to the airport (15-20 min drive), which is very nice, especially if you have smaller children. The property is clean and well maintained. We have stayed on the bungalow side. The rooms are decent size. Accommodations are a bit smaller in Europe, so we were not surprised. The bathroom door is made of glass and, if someone else stands in front of it and looks through the clear portions, they can see you. That's all i have to say about that.
Great overall. Parking was limited but available. Room was great and spacious for a family of 5. Selected the licataion because it was close to Knossos site but a little bit removed from the old town center. Great property.
