"Beautiful, quiet, small boutique hotel with only 6-7 rooms. Meticulously renovated with spacious bathrooms and rooms. Location ideal for walking and water taxis. Host was incredibly accomodating and made reservations for us for whatever we wanted. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"La Calcina hotel was perfect for our needs. Quiet, boutiquey hotel away from the bustling area of San Marco, but very conveniently located! Easy walking to all the sights and restaurants. Waterbus station right there. Food was very good. We will definitely stay here again!"

"The hotel was centrally located. The room was large with 2 vertical windows overlooking the canal. It had a large tub and large frosted glass window. Plenty of drawers, nice desk, the wardrobe with safe and refrigerator in it. The floor was terrazzo, the bed comfortable. I did not take part in their breakfasts … so cannot report. The building is over 500 years old. It has an old well in the lobby. ( their sources were rain water)… I did not want to leave…I would happily return. "

"This is an apartment in a 500 year old building. On the canal, large space with extra TV room. Nicely furnished small bathroom but nice. Very nice staff, and we were on the 4th top floor and there are no elevators. 54 stairs. Excellent buffet breakfast for 15 euros. Good Italian Venice experience."
