"We chose Pistoia as the base for a two-day visit to Florence. This plan worked great. Hosts Carlo and Lucia have a quirky compound located a short walk from the train station. We parked our rental car for the duration, and used the regional train service (frequent and cheap) to get to Florence. (Ask Carlo about his motorcycle collection.) "The hotel is recently renovated (2024), and is small (used to be a Monastery) but very beautiful… the grounds are meant to be explored and delight upon. If the hotel is great, the staff, however, is on another level of excellence !!! They couldn’t be more lovely, helpful, and just AMAZING to my daughter and myself! Especially Michela!!! The restaurant and bar menus are so delicious, there are no words! The restaurant’s chef should have a Michelin star, what he gave us were not carefully planned...
