We decided very last minute to stay in the Cotswalds overnight. I wanted to experience a staying a traditional inn. The Horse and Groom was perfect! We couldn't have asked for anything better. The guestroom was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We booked just an hour before we arrived, but they were gracious to accommodate us. The Inn is picturesque, the breakfast was amazing even though we were there on Monday when they do t offer their full breakfast menu. The service was the best we have ever...
We booked this hotel because we needed air con and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived to when we left, it was everything we had been looking for. The staff was great and were able to accommodate us with an early check in. They even have little goodie bags for the dogs, which included a ball. There's a great wooded area across the street from the hotel that's nice and shaded, which the dogs appreciated during the heatwave. This hotel was fantastic and exceeded our expectations....
Outstanding pub! Well appointed rooms, tasteful and charming decor. We stayed here while walking the Cotswold Way. We had lunch in town before checking in and chatted with locals in the area. Each time we said we had reservations at The Crown the response would be ‘oh, great pub!’, or ‘delicious food’, or ‘oh, that’s a proper pub’. The Crown lived up to it all! Kate was a wonderful host and took care of all our needs setting us up with a trail lunch and everything. Our dinner was incredibly...
Amazing stop for us. Absolutely splendid hotel with wonderful grounds! Our boys loved the outdoor grounds for exploring and playing soccer (football). Stayed here in a family room (5 of us)--plenty of space, overlooking pool. Wonderful service and attention. Convenient for our visits to Avebury and Bath.
Breakfast buffet is quite limited but adequate. Toast, jam, assorted fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans and hash browns. Scrambled eggs would have been better.
Room was quite large but old. Peeling paint on the baseboard, old granny wallpaper and a bathroom from 1980. The toilet won't flush without a lot of extra effort.
Air conditioner would have been appreciated. It was 81 degrees (27) and stifling in the room. This hotel needs updating desperately.

The room shower could be upgraded from the electric system. But this is minor and common in UK - the staff are friendly and helpful, keep the place clean and make you feel welcomed. So highly recommended
I absolutely loved this hotel and would return in a heartbeat. This is the place to go if you want to feel pampered and taken care of. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They make you feel at home. Their breakfast menu is amazing. The food is delicious and beats many of the cafes in the neighborhood. Their location is great- they are walking distance from everything, but still located in a quiet street where you can avoid too many tourists.
