Very clean, neat, & the staff was absolutely fantastic!! Food was great! Oh the saunas were so so so relaxing.
The only reason I checked off the area outside of the property being unsafe is that Ecuador was under marshall law so we did not feel safe outside the hotel. BUT WE FELT TOTALLY SAFE & COMFORTABLE INSIDE!!!

Wonderful brand new sparkling property right across from Quito airport that would probably be a top 5 airport in the US. Made the trip to Galapagos a breeze.
The hotel resides in one of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. The grounds are immaculately maintained, tge architecture is gorgeous, the spaces uncrowded and relaxed. Places like this only exist in fairy tales. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The on-site restaurant is very good too. I hope to spend another vacation there.

The main 'casa' is loaded with amazing artwork. Paintings sculptures etc. You literally can spend an hour looking thru one of their sitting areas and then look again and realize you missed a dozen objects. I can't figure out how...
I somehow thought this would be closer to the airport, but it was about a 30 minute drive. Nevertheless, Llalo was very clean, safe, professionally operated and the breakfast on the porch was ideal. The rates were appropriate for the lodging. I highly recommend it.
We had to evacuate Quito emergently during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Unable to get a flight that night, we purchased nights at the Hotel Alpachaca for $20 / night / room. Turning onto the dirt road, we were nervous. Happily, the hotel was well built, clean, and staffed by friendly people. The next morning they served us a breakfast of bread and cheese sandwiches, cooked-to-order eggs, and tea or instant coffee. Beautiful authentic boutique hotel. I had to stay one night on my way to Galapagos and did not want to stay at one of those chain modern places. This hotel is very charming, with hammocks outside and place to walk safely on the property. Bonus airport transfer included. Onsite restaurant open till 10PM with great food.
